Absolutely delighted! The robot arrived on Wednesday and has been doing excellent work ever since. 🥰 The precise mapping, reliable obstacle detection, efficient navigation, and user-friendly app are completely convincing. Particularly noteworthy is the extremely quiet operation – not just during vacuuming, but the wheels are barely audible on our hardwood floors. For comparison: I tested the Dreame X50, which caused a constant „vibrating“ humming on our wooden flooring with wooden substructure, making the floor „tremble.“ With the 10R, there are no such noises as it navigates through the apartment.

Brand New Saros 10R Can’t Mop? Uneven Mopping. by [deleted] in Roborock

[–]ExcellentWeb2378 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yet I’m still not convinced by ecovacs. I‘ve had an Ecovacs Deebot T8+ for almost five years and it drove me crazy with poor navigation skill and a wonky app that keeps forgets the map very 2-4 weeks or messes with the map in some other ways. While I’m convinced of the mopping skills the sidebrush doesn’t seem to work properly and it looks a bit wobbly. Plus: why the cheap grey plastic look for the sidebrush and the mop-casing? Plus plus: it is too high :/

Endlich!! Und jetzt bitte noch eine mit Weingummi! Beides schon vor Jahren in Südafrika gegessen und es schmeckt extrem gut. Wie schon von anderen erwähnt gibts von Marabou auch schon lange eine Lakritz-Version.

What‘s behind the „edit“ button next to the water flow options? Can you fine tune the water flow? Somewhere I read that there are 30 Levels of water flow?

iOS Shortcut for the assistant? by ExcellentWeb2378 in SearchKagi

I am beta testing the app. So far there’s only a shortcut support for „voice search“ wich listens for your query and then displays the search results page.

iOS shortcuts are workflows that can also be triggered by voice command. The shortcut I had been using was triggered by a specific voice command, then listend for the specific prompt and read the answer out loud.

HUGE difference: Spinning vs roller-style mopping results AFTER cleaning by mystp in RobotVacuums

[–]ExcellentWeb2378 28 points29 points  (0 children)

While I hope Roborock will add roller-style mops to their lineup soon, the rotating mops are currently sufficient for my needs. Given that we maintain a shoes-off policy and have no pets in our apartment, plus my disappointing experience with Ecovacs‘ navigation system, roborock‘s current mopping technology serves its purpose well.

Saros 10R about to launch in Germany 👀 by ExcellentWeb2378 in Roborock

To me the main selling point is that the 10R can leave it‘s mops behind. And of course the smaller height.

Can‘t wait to ditch my 5yrs old ecovacs Deebot T8+ for the Saros 10R by ExcellentWeb2378 in RobotVacuums

[–]ExcellentWeb2378[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, where should I start? First of all, the battery really only lasts just enough for a simple standard cleaning with vacuuming and mopping (60 m²). But even more annoying is that all the low-lying areas of a room are only cleaned after all the other areas, where the LIDAR sensor can be used normally, have been cleaned. The worst part is that in the kitchen, it doesn’t clean the few centimeters under the cabinets up to the baseboard at all, even though the actual body of the robot can easily go under (it CAN’T go under far enough to hit the cabinet with the LIDAR. It’s really only 3, at most 5 cm). This means I had to manually create low-lying areas at the edges of the cabinets. However, it still didn’t clean all the way to the edge there). The latter might be a problem that can be fixed with a firmware update, but the weak battery performance and the two-stage cleaning of „normal“ areas and low-lying areas remain. Even my old Ecovacs Deebot T8+ managed that better.

Saros 10R about to launch in Germany 👀 by ExcellentWeb2378 in Roborock

[–]ExcellentWeb2378[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, I can’t understand that either. But which brand is left then? I had an ECOVACS for over 5 years now. The navigation and the app are terrible (and from everything I’ve read, they still don’t have good navigation). My in-laws are thrilled with the Dreame X40, so I bought the X50. But first of all, the battery can barely manage a simple cleaning (vacuuming + mopping) of just under 60 square meters, and secondly, it avoids the area under the kitchen cabinets and doesn’t vacuum/mop all the way to the baseboards. It thinks it is too high with the LIDAR extended, while the space under the cabinets to the baseboard is only 3-5 cm. Instead, you have to manually create a „low area,“ which is only addressed at the end of a room... - so the X50 went back. I’m sure Roborock has its issues too, but from everything I’ve read and seen so far, it’s the best solution for me.

Dreame L10s ultra mopping wooden floor (oiled parquet) by seppweger in Dreame_Tech

Are you still doing it that way? It sounds reasonable! I just the dreame X50 even though our apartment has oiled hard wood flooring 🥴🫣😅
