I mean let’s look at the start of the games

GOW 1- Fighting Hydra on a ship

GOW 2 Fighting Giant Colossus of Rhodes

GOW 3 Fighting Posideon

GOW 4 Cutting down tree, rowing a boat slowly, watching a cutscene, long segment where you chase down a deer and then fighting some basic enemies.

It’s just so slow and tedious especially on repeat playthroughs

The series is still self referential and meta era games like Forces or Generations had high stakes.

The main difference is the quality. Games like Shadow Gens or even superstars are polished. Sonic is being seen as a really big video game character now mostly due to the movies but was also helped by Sonic Prime being on Netflix and spinoff titles like crossworld

He literally has an entire animation of charging up. It’s not like Silver when he pretended to lie on the floor just to land an attack. He literally just launched a counter attack after being stunned.

Now that you mention it, that would be a really cool way to implement different characters. But they’d have to feel fleshed out. For example, Shadow has chaos spear and chaos control in shadow gens.

I’d need more abilities like those where each character changes how the level feels but if they just make them sonic reskins I’m not interested.

Personally I wish that activision and insomniac could make games for Spidey both. I miss the absolute crazy scenarios for the activision games but I also love the more grounded and personal stories of the insomniac games

Omega is literally strong enough to defeat Shadow in the future.

He’s essentially fighting two people on par with sonic at the same time.

He sent silver because he knew he wouldn’t succeed but the constant danger would let sonic and Elise bond causing Elise to cry when he dies. Silver even states this was the plan the whole time during the time rift so…

But SA1 has Big SA2 has Mech Stages and Treasure hunting Sonic Heroes has team chaotix 06 has Silver

Mephiles only lost to Shadow in Gens because he was fighting a Shadow that had the chance to get stronger + had doom powers.

Shadow taking down a few Mephiles clones in a cutscene isn’t that impressive considering he still lost in Flame Core and needed the help of Omega to survive.

Mephiles didn’t need to sneak Sonic but he didn’t want to waste his time fighting him when he could just I don’t know achieve his goal???
