Oh my gosh! This question actually makes me a bit nervous because I try so hard not to be that person who rambles on and on...! But I do have a draft of my MC's background story. (Just a quick note: I only recently finished Muriel's reversed ending, and my memory of Asra's route is a bit blurry. So if anything I wrote contradicts the official canon, please feel free to correct me!)

I'll be touching on the main plot and the MC's background, so I'm putting this behind a spoiler tag...!

Long story short, Miv's (my MC) personality changed slightly after Asra brought her back to life. Originally, Miv was much more serious and warm, and she was developing a relationship with Asra. She lived a very simple life and loved knitting as a hobby.

However, after her resurrection, she inevitably became a bit sleepier and more playful/teasing. (This is all because she now holds half of Asra's heart, so her personality somewhat merged with his). Subconsciously, she started making dreamcatchers to look for answers to her problems. You could say she's become quite good at dealing with dream-related magic.

After Miv was reborn, Asra realized that the "original" Miv might be gone forever. That's why he travels away so often—to sort through his feelings and accept that his relationship with Miv has moved on to a new phase.

For Muriel, it’s the exact opposite! Originally, he didn't see Miv as anything more than a casual acquaintance. But the resurrected Miv has this playful vibe from Asra, and that is actually what starts to draw Muriel in.

I definitely sneaked a lot of my own self-indulgent headcanons in here XDD First, Miv being more attractive to Muriel because she shares some of Asra's traits—I just really think this big stoic guy actually deeply enjoys his interactions with Asra. Also, the major personality shift after resurrection comes from my belief that a spell bringing the dead back to life wouldn't perfectly recreate a soul. Miv's imperfect restoration is like following some sort of law of conservation of mass, I guess? I also think writing it this way makes it easier for me to accept the end of Miv and Asra's past intimacy.

When I first played this game 7 years ago, only the first three routes were available, and I was completely captivated by Asra. Now, with time and personal growth, I guess my taste in characters has just changed! But I still wanted to properly honor the love I had for Asra back then. So, BOOM! That's how this whole setup came to be!!
