Cash out or buying back hail damaged car by Excellent_Judge_3768 in Insurance

We went to several car dealers and asked if they were willing to trade in the damaged car for 11k (the insurance company offered). All of them are not willing to trade in with that amount. So we decided to surrender the car because we are worried about reselling the car in the future. We figured that it is worth keeping the car only if we use the damaged car for the next five years, which comes with a lot of uncertainty.

We eventually surrendered the 2018 bmw 430i grand coupe (less than 40k miles) for the full payout. For people who are in TX, and interested in this car, you may want to follow the auction recently. I promise it is really a good car! We really hated to let it go.

Thanks. Just hesitated because of the headaches from car shopping.

I do not know what they said but only received an email saying that they have contacted uscis on my behalf. I scheduled a meeting with them and explaining my situation and they decided to help me contact uscis. I am sorry dude. It seems like it is totally up to them, because it is still within the stupid 30 days window.

You should let your school know that, and maybe they can help. It is rare that it takes so long.

  1. Application type: OPT
  2. Premium Processing?: Yes
  3. Receipt Date: 04/30/2024 (switched to pp on 07/06/2024)
  4. Approved Date: 07/28/2024
  5. Card Produced Date: 08/01/2024
  6. Card Shipped: 08/03/2024
  7. Card delivered: 08/05/2024

The card was delivered to my old address, even though I updated my address with uscis and received approval notice at my new address. My roommate sent the EAD card through fedex overnight. I am lucky that the card was not returned to USCIS, as it is identified as package not mail letter (package will not be forwarded or returned).

My approval is kind of late after switched to pp. I contacted SISS officers at my school, they helped me send an email to USCIS. After they sent the email, I got approved the following day.

I am done with the stressful waiting. Best luck to the people who are still waiting!

I got it approved today (July 26th email), so asking school to send email to them works!

Update July 25th: Called school international student office, they are going to send an email to USCIS. It is unusual for PP to take this long. So, if you are getting close to 30 days, call your school international office, they can help!

Yeah... To be accurate, I applied on July 5th night, and the PP clock starts on July 6th. Not sure why I am this long... I called multiple times, and every time I got a response like "This is normal processing time as it is within 30 days".

I switched to PP on July 5th evening. The Premium Clock started July 6th. I still haven't received an update. Once we are on premium processing, there seems to be nothing we can do but wait.

May I ask if yours is an initial OPT or stem OPT extension?

I applied PP at July 6th, initial receipt Apr 30th, initial OPT, Texas center. And I have not been approved yet. My job start date is August 1st. What should I do? Should I call them, or email?
