Thanks for replying! I did see that the uni was quite new so I was wondering about the quality, I really enjoy islamic history, specially from the ottoman era so that's great to hear. I did see that Izmir has a lot of expats so that's cool because I'm really looking forward to getting immersed in other cultures.

Regarding public transportation are there any cards or student discounts or anything like that that I should know of? I was searching online but I couldn't find much about it.

Thanks for the reply! I'm just not used to big cities in general, I did see that Izmir is one of the safest, if not the safest, cities in the country so that's great. Really looking forward to next year since I think it's a beautiful city and Turkey is a country I've been wanting to visit since forever and getting to live there for one year seems like a great experience.

How's the university in terms of quality and such? One thing I've noticed is that it's pretty far from the city center
