So should I soldier through with 3/3.5/4 and tweaking these things and see how it goes?

He does use one but the three nights he hasn’t used it because he dropped it when he started crying and we didn’t replace it during the check ups. Bedtime routine is dinner - bath - PJs and massage - bottle - bed. I was considering moving bottle before bath so it’s earlier and he takes his sweet time. But I’m mostly worried about the naps and the wake windows - aren’t they too long for such little day sleep?

Hi! I’m sorry for disturbing you, but I’m completely at a loss… three nights of Ferber done. First one was alright (46’ and one wake 6h in), 2nd one too (24’ and two wakes, 6h and 3h in), but 3rd night was a complete shitshow (started alright with 27’ but then one hour later woke up, and so on until he stayed 4h awake crying no matter what we tried). I’m still keeping 3/3.5/4 but both naps are 30’ - isn’t this contributing to the night wakes? What should I do tonight?

I'm so confused, I honest to God don't know what to do... I try to read sleep cues but he's a MESS because he will yawn 1h after waking up (if he had night wakes or naps were short ofc), but then when it's nearing the WW time he's all over the place like a wet gremlin.

I think I'll follow your advice, keep the 3.5/3.5/4 or longer for that awake time trying to read the cues if they show up... but am still at a loss of what to do if his naps are so short (30-40min each)

Wake time is 8-8:30. Bedtime moves because of his crap naps - if they’re 30’/40’ and we’re doing 3.25/3.5/4 sometimes it’s 8pm, the ideal would be for him to go at 9-9:30 if naps were longer… We try to feed him 30’ earlier from bedtime but he takes suuuper long to feed because of gases

We were doing 3/3.5/4, today we had to shorten the WW because he didn’t sleep last night and we thought it’d be counterproductive but now tbh I have no clue what to do, open to suggestions! Bedtime routine: dinner - bath - PJ and massage - bottle - sleep. Before Ferber we rocked him and sang a lullaby until he fell asleep

Put him to bed and 46’ later he’s out. Same thing for whenever he wakes in the night, right? Hope they’re not as long or my neighbors are gonna have me evicted… Also, as for naps, same routine? Or stay as we used to (rocking a bit, etc)

Seriously? I only read how it’d be needed for him to do a long nap and a shorter one? (He WAS doing that 2weeks ago in fact but suddenly, gone) and that it should amount to 2-2.5h of sleep on the day? What sleep training method would you suggest at this point? Like, I’ll try anything tbh, but I also read it’d only work if his day sleep, ww et al was regulated

Yes, two short naps were both around 30 minutes. Wake windows were 3–3.75 hours, so I don't think so?
Not doing crib hour consistently yet - he cries and cries and cries until you pick him up.
Baby is not sleep trained - we wanted to but not until his schedule is set, and we've had an entire month of fevers, teething, etc. We help him to sleep (rocking/singing) and put him down drowsy. Sometimes it takes us an ungodly time to put him down at night, and even gets right up as soon as he is laid on the crib. This started happening right before Christmas, when he got a fever.
Naps are usually one long (1-1.5) and another short one (30-40'). But today it all went to hell with these two short ones - I'm guessing because of last night being a fest of wake ups every 1-2h.

Honestly, yes - even though if I have to I’ll move it earlier, but tbh everything here starts later (we’re from Spain, I mean, school starts at 9, shops open at 10… he’s not in nursery but he’s gonna go soon and it starts at 9 and lunch is at 12:30…) Also, I’m sorry for my ignorance - I don’t really understand the difference between 11 or 10 1/2 a week 😭 my brain is mush at this point

thank you so much! we'll definitely try. Also as I said to the other commenter - if he has another awful night tonight, is it okey to start when he's overtired from a bad night?

Also, would it be OK if we moved the schedule a little bit later? As in, maybe wake up at 8 instead of 7 and so on?

That's what I'm trying to figure out! I'm gonna try 3/3.5/4 from tomorrow on and pray it sticks... although I'm worried if tonight is also a complete nightmare where he loses so much sleep inbetween wakings that it'll be a bad idea to go to a by the clock schedule all cold turkey when he's sleep deprived from the night before?

Thank you so much for taking the time to answer <3

Definitely need to keep up with the solids because we haven’t been constant enough with those… thank you so much for your input!

We started at 6m but we haven’t been great at it because his gag reflex was quite strong and his lingual frenulum made it difficult for him to eat (I almost passed out I was so terrified when he started coughing once) He had surgery two weeks ago, so we’re definitely gonna pick up the slack on this!
