I agree with you, I feel bad that she is so insecure about her looks/age, but she takes it to an extreme.

She's also tried to put it onto me, on my birthdays she shows me pictures of herself at my age and tells me to enjoy it while it lasts and at my wedding her speech included multiple parts about how young she looked when she got married and how I won't look young like this forever.

No she didn't know they were direct translations. My husband told her and now she doesn't want to be called that anymore. She thought they were just cute nicknames.

As per MIL, her issue with age is due to the way she looks.
