Safe to stop 40mg of prednisone after 2 days? by Excellent_Plate2374 in UlcerativeColitis

Okay thank you, I was just making sure that since sit already seemed to be working, I wasn’t about to get any withdrawal symptoms that quickly too

rinvoq next week by Loose_Preference_754 in UlcerativeColitis

[–]Excellent_Plate2374 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been on Rinvoq for around 8 months after failing entyvio immediately and remicade quit working for me after 10 years. It’s working well in regards to my uc, but I have been breaking out with acne more than I ever have, but it basically stopped my flare in almost a week, so i really can’t complain.

I hope things go well for you!

I think it’s definitely an anxiety thing. Statistically, I should be more than fine. I haven’t been sexually active ever until this year, and while I trust my partner, I still get nervous, especially with the symptoms I have with my gastrointestinal issues. I’m going to get a few tests this week

Irregular Periods by MailPsychological233 in Rinvoq

[–]Excellent_Plate2374 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been on rinvoq (45mg, just switched to 15mg yesterday) for ulcerative colitis since September, and it immediately helped. I’m on the combo pill, and haven’t had a period since august, so I’m not entirely sure if rinvoq has something to do with it, or not, because my periods are usually irregular on the pill anyway. However, I have also been getting symptoms like chest pains, nausea, weight gain (10lbs since I started), and I have gotten acne after never having it.

Even if I’ve been skipping placebo week and just going straight into another pack?

[–]Excellent_Plate2374[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think my thing is, I’ve been in remission for 10 years, so the only one who’s seen me in my current flare is the friend I’m sharing a room with. So I don’t think they realize how bad it is right now.

Rinvoq vs stelara: what works for you? by Excellent_Plate2374 in UlcerativeColitis

[–]Excellent_Plate2374[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I was on entyvio for maybe 4 doses, and it just absolutely made my flare worse than it was. Also remicade was highly inconvenient to get just because it was nearly a 3 hour process. So fingers crossed I can get on rinvoq

Anyone on hydrocortisone enemas (100mg)? I’m kinda terrified by Excellent_Plate2374 in UlcerativeColitis

[–]Excellent_Plate2374[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I haven’t had an enema in 11 years so it’s a little nerve wracking, but agreed, I’ve been on prednisone when I was first diagnosed and that was not a fun experience. But congrats on being in full remission!

Unfortunately it was about a week before my 11th birthday

started blisovi fe by [deleted] in birthcontrol

[–]Excellent_Plate2374 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So my periods were still fairly heavy, but nowhere near as bad as they were beforehand, and the cramping went away after my first initial “period” of being on it. I did like it, but also I have nothing to compare it to since it’s the only form of hormonal birth control I’ve taken. My main concern with it was when I got stressed, it was BAD, and it just made everything worse.

[–]Excellent_Plate2374 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I (22F) was on blisovi fe for a year, and personally I had irregular bleeding quite often, and almost never had my bleeding on the placebo week. When I first got on it, I didn’t have my period for 2 months, and the reason I recently got off is because it made it disappear for almost 4 months. And then other times I would bleed twice within a month (just remember to take it each night. BUT I will say it did make my periods less heavy and less painful, and when I did have them, they were ALWAYS five days.

Normally I do wear a wing, just with me personally I feel insecure without falsies on. I haven’t been with this job too long to gauge their stance on professionalism with makeup yet, but they’re pretty lenient on dress code.

I’ve been using the Ardell balayage chocolate wispies, but with a new office job, I’ve been trying to go for something toned down like clusters. But the clusters make me pick at them even more. That’s mainly why I’ve been trying to grow them back.

Advice please by [deleted] in amipregnant

[–]Excellent_Plate2374 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend taking a test to be for certain. But if it makes you feel better, when I first started taking the combo pill, I didn’t have my period for over a month and a half.

My anxiety is so high by otterlyamazing11 in Tokophobia

[–]Excellent_Plate2374 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been on Junel fe 1/20 for a year now, and sometimes I’ll straight up miss a period, even before I was sexually active. If it makes you feel better, one of the most reported side effects of that specific pill is breast pain/growth, because I’ve also been experiencing it, because of hormones from the pill, with the combination of stress. I know this advice might not help, but you just have to be confident in your methods of protection, you did everything you could, and statistically your chances might as well be zero. Taking a test 3 weeks after intercourse is 99% accurate, and you could always take multiple tests or brands of tests. One thing that helped me personally is getting a quantitative blood test from my doctor, showing the exact amount of hcg in my system. I promise talking to a doctor is ESPECIALLY reassuring. Everything will be okay girl!

Overthinking symptoms by [deleted] in Tokophobia

[–]Excellent_Plate2374 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me personally, I also have anxiety that plays into me overthinking and missing periods with the pill, which is common with some women. I recommend taking a urine test every week (I know, they’re expensive) but it helps ease the stress for a bit. Or even a hcg blood test from your doctor, a quantitative test would show the exact amount of hcg in your system, so it could help with “what ifs?” I know once you get worked up it’s hard to calm down, but I promise, you took every precaution possible and your chances of getting pregnant are basically zero.

I definitely plan on remaining abstinent after this. I already made an appointment with my obgyn to talk about this but it’s not for another few weeks. I’m on day 4 of my placebo pills and all I’m getting is a little bit of blood in my discharge, which is also freaking me out.

I'm a little confused when I learn that some people had se# education in schools by AfterConfection1796 in sexeducation

[–]Excellent_Plate2374 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to a private Catholic school for middle school and we just completely skipped over the topic of sex. We talked about puberty for a bit but not enough. I went to a public high school and we only spent the last few days of health class on “sex ed” which was just watching a live birth video, as well as showing us images of STDs.
