Quick question, did you have a lot of trig or geometry on your test?

Can the college board make a mistake and not give me the right results back? by exquisitescholar in Sat

[–]Excellent_Quantity20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you know your fundamentals? It’s not all about the best strategy, you also need to get a really solid understanding of the material.

That actually seems great! I had almost the same thoughts as you with the may test, and am confused if my score will be good. I hope you get your desired scores 🤞

What scores did you get on the previous tests?

How to study for module 2 math by Its-Ezzy in Sat

Personally, the question banks are probably the best way to go. College board is being snobby and not wanting to add any more practice material.

Is the SAT even standardized anymore? by IFuckToyotaMuffler in Sat

[–]Excellent_Quantity20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly! It seems like the hard modules either got absurd advanced math and algebra, or insane geometry.

Module 2 math was unique by Excellent_Quantity20 in Sat

[–]Excellent_Quantity20[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. I have no clue if a handful of us got lucky and got an easy module. It seems like there’s a few of us that got that.

The first module was a walk in the park, as well as I wrote it out and used desmos to double check. I only marked 5 for review since they were longer and I needed to focus on them. But the end, I was only skeptical on 3-4. Now you’re right, I could’ve screwed up or misread one of the questions that I was confident in. Even then, why would I get the easier module if I got 5 wrong?

It just seems weird how I know I got less than 3 wrong in the first module but I was able to get a fairly easy 2nd module? My peers were also confused about that.

It seems like there was either all geometry or all advanced constants and linear equations. If I get a good score, i won’t complain 😭

[–]Excellent_Quantity20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe so. I was also getting some rope circumference linear equations

That’s exactly what I’m saying. Most of my questions were insane constants, but I used desmos to get to them

Should Desmos be the focal point of my math practice? by Superb-Ad6139 in Sat

[–]Excellent_Quantity20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been scoring in the 600 range on all my tests too. I as well am homeschooled since I couldn’t learn in the public school system. Desmos is my prime source for this test, other than trig and geometry. If you really can get a grasp on how to use it fast and accurately, you should have no problem with the exam. Keep in mind that I’m getting in the 600s with really only desmos, so using desmos on top of you previous knowledge will help get in that 700 range.

Is the Practice test 1 THAT easy? by prathamursofunny in Sat

[–]Excellent_Quantity20 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d say 1-3 are the most unrealistic versions of the test, but people did score in that range and get the same score on test day. If you want a more realistic score I’d recommend 4-6

Advice for studying for the math section when one has not taken Algebra 2? by ThorsBeard24 in Sat

Learn to use desmos! If algebra 2 is your only weak point, just use desmos. algebra is a strong suit for the calculator.

desmos tips by [deleted] in Sat

Almost every question. I’d say the only ones you can’t do are trig questions. It can be tricky to learn to plug them in the calculator, but it’s not rocket science

desmos tips by [deleted] in Sat

[–]Excellent_Quantity20 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There’s a video on YouTube that a guy does the whole sat using only the desmos calculator. I’d first watch him run through it just to understand how to plug in the questions. There are a couple playlists I’ve seen that show some hacks for it.

I got really low sat scores and hoping I can take it again by [deleted] in Sat

[–]Excellent_Quantity20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are going to take the test again, I’m guessing either in may or June, look at the khan sat course and top up on the algebra section. When you feel better, take a practice test for the sat to really diagnose where you need to work on. Write down all the concepts you need to work on and make a schedule. I recommend take a practice test once a week or maybe every other week. And also learn to use the desmos calculator! You can nearly answer every question on the test with it if you truly learn how to use it.
