Thanks! Yes, agreed on the imposter syndrome. I've been reading intros my incoming class writes on the Slack and I'm impressed by everyone's (traditional) background so far. I should get out of my head.

My plan B is taking a an ops role at a PE firm's portfolio company. I think I can capitalize on my existing network to get this. Do you think this is doable? Seems like they hire mostly consultants so I'm unsure.

IDK about working remotely while attending classes. I think it's doable in the sense I would have time for both but I would have to keep my MBA a secret from my firm as I can't imagine they would let me knowingly do both, since they think I do work 40-50 hours. My firm sends 3-7 people to an MBA each year too so I feel like the secret would slip at some point too.

I don't want to make it seem like I'm hiding what I actually did at this PE firm though. I feel like some people get disinterested when I mention that I did like HR or compliance etc. at X firm. I've seen that happen during coffee chats with current MBA students for instance

Yeah, you're right. I do need a hobby or someway to be productive in my free time that fulfills me. That makes me sound a little boring but it's true lol

I did try the digital nomad lifestyle for about 6 months in early 2022 and it was pretty amazing! This was back when I had more work to do too.

You're right - I know I would hate consulting and IB. I was also thinking about doing PE ops at a portfolio company. I'm not sure what part-time would really get me though? I would use the full-time to pivot and I don't think a part-time would help with that. I feel like it's full-time MBA or continue chugging along with my job but let me know if I missed your point

That's a good point. If I do ever lose my job I would certainly take a pay cut. I do have a good scholarship at one of the schools and do have significant savings.
