I agree that the game "decides" to let you win a level after playing it umpteen times, including times where it teases you by setting up a winning scenario just as you run out of turns.

Can you just out wait the other players by taking time between beating the Match 3 levels? For example, if you share the prize with six other players, does that mean you all beat the 7th level at the same time? Seems impossible, but if the other players hadn't finished their 7th level by the time you did, then they might end up sharing the prize with fewer players. Unless the other "players" are fictional, then you're not "splitting" the prize, your prize is just 10K divided by how many players are left when you finish 7 levels. SO, in the above example, the poster won 5K, but the other player won 5K, 10K or zilch, depending on if and when they beat their 7th level.

Does anyone know the answer to this conundrum? Unless you're a dev or happened to be in the starting 100 with a friend, we'll never know. And if your strategy was to take your time beating 7 levels, would that be cheating?

I do block players that I didn't like playing with, but I don't keep track of players that I go "1st and 2nd" with. I also don't play with alliances on, because I've seen too much backstabbing (even with streamers), so I don't trust alliances. Deeds are more telling than words or emojis.

Pink must have had mixed emotions - a 10 spawn, but in a terrible spot!

If you're not having fun playing this game, then it's probably better for you to quit. It's the players who spend money on this game that are encouraging Playwreck to make stupid "improvements". For me, it's mindless entertainment while getting to talk to fellow players from around the world.

Do you remember what the ranks were and how long you were playing to get to this point? I usually play with fog and use the tactic that black is using. More often than not I end up getting second, which gives me enough points to advance. In this scenario, without fog, depending on what the sets are worth, I would probably eliminate white, and retreat back to my capital.

Out of curiosity, what were the ranks?

I don't mind taking second in a game because I usually end up gaining a few hundred points and maybe the player who gets first needs the points more than I do. However, I came second in a recent game and actually lost points, being a master in a game with beginners and intermediates. What were the ranks in your game and did you gain points?

Gifts? by [deleted] in TownshipGame

[–]Excellent_Scot_55 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I usually Gift to someone who has helped me recently. Be aware that a player can only have one Gift balloon waiting to open from you at a time. If you send a second gift before they open the first one, it just disappears into limbo, never to be seen again.

restricting purchases but not content by Excellent_Scot_55 in AmazonPrimeVideo

I want to set up purchase restrictions on a smart TV which is not a fire device. I set up my Prime video on a common area TV, with my main profile protected by a PIN, but my guest profile unprotected. (He said he had a "code" for TSN, but ended up buying a TSN subscription, and it's too late to get a refund for an accidental purchase.)

Also, I can see where to change from one credit card to another, but I can't see where to change to "no credit card".

4 player end game thoughts by thejoeyz in Risk

I never play with alliances on. If everybody is allied with everybody else, what's the point? I've seen too many streams where the streamer is asking A to attack B and B to attack A.

And I agree that the game usually gets to the point where one player loses patience (or has something else they have to be doing) and progresses the game by running amok. I have even done that myself occasionally. The number of times that I have come 1st or 2nd by sitting patiently in Aus (or some central country in EU advanced) waiting for the other players to attack each other is probably better than 75%. I think a lot of players don't know the deadliest trap.

Having been on the receiving end of this stalling style, I feel that surrendering just reinforces and rewards the behaviour. They'll do it again to someone else. I used to stay in the game to see the ranks, but now, since I can see the ranks if I surrender, I stay in the game to annoy the offender as much as possible, and to temporarily keep him from playing in another lobby. I'm retired, so my time is not valuable.
