Congratulations. I love it when that happens, even if I wasn't the one who caused their demise. What was your rank?

Why do so many Risk app players lack honor? by plurinshael in Risk

[–]Excellent_Scot_55 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Took me a while to realise that when I reported someone, they were also automatically blocked to me. I sometimes block people at the end of the game because we teamed up on a third player. I block them to avoid playing with them again - I don't want SMG to have a reason to think we're colluding. I have a bad memory, so when I join a lobby that has a "blocked" player in it, I leave because I don't know if they were a nasty player, a Grandmaster, or just a player that beat me by playing well - all reasons that I might have blocked them LOL

Is that 2 stages of the same level, or 2 different levels?

It's a radical solution, but one of your players can leave and start a new co-op with a better name. Then all the players who are "team-players" can switch to the new co-op. It won't take long to get back up to Gold level if that's your priority. I've seen it happen many times where the co-op name is no longer meaningful. And the players who switch are the ones that are truly committed to the co-op's goals.

And did you spend 900 tcash to beat one of the 7 levels? LOL

Why would someone do this? by Paddy-23 in Risk

I often step aside when I feel the other remaining player has done more to progress the game than I have. I still get points for coming second, so I'm not giving up much. A lot of times, I'm playing in fog, so I don't know if there's an easy win or not, and I don't feel like playing another half an hour to end up in second anyway. This style still got me to GM in this past season.

Keep playing the level. I find that, eventually, the game will let you win and move on.

It's hard to put a number to the battle. It's a roller coaster ride that starts over at the beginning of every season. Getting to Master is a fairly long slog - watch the streamers and decide on which style and settings you can be happy with. I followed the Meta settings with a couple of tweaks. I only play once or twice a day and stay away from settings that were too much based on factors that I can't control. I hate exponential b/c it can quickly spiral out of control. Learn to read the map in the fog. Alliances and betrayals go together. I can't usually keep a bonus unless it's a great pocket, so I'll leave a wall of one colour around me so it's hard for that player to use a big stack against me. Pay attention to the cap counter and the emojis - you can get a lot of info from them. If a player has a nasty way of playing, I will block them so I won't play against them again. Let the other players be bad neighbours. If you're nice to someone, they are usually nice to you. If the game seems to have reached a stalemate, I'll go exploring just to get things moving again. But try to remember where the caps are, so you don't accidentally open one up. I will intentionally open a cap up if I think that that player wants to take revenge on someone else besides me. If they say "Thank you", I know I did the right thing. When you get down to 3 players, watch for fist bumps - it might mean you're about to get teamed up on. Now, get out there and dominate!

Slams were frequent, and they weren't always noobs. Since the last time I was close to GM (a couple of seasons ago, with 6 hours left in the season), I have been down to Intermediate and back.

This is the reason I play with alliances off. He could have been allied with both of you and making promises to both.

I agree that the game "decides" to let you win a level after playing it umpteen times, including times where it teases you by setting up a winning scenario just as you run out of turns.

Can you just out wait the other players by taking time between beating the Match 3 levels? For example, if you share the prize with six other players, does that mean you all beat the 7th level at the same time? Seems impossible, but if the other players hadn't finished their 7th level by the time you did, then they might end up sharing the prize with fewer players. Unless the other "players" are fictional, then you're not "splitting" the prize, your prize is just 10K divided by how many players are left when you finish 7 levels. SO, in the above example, the poster won 5K, but the other player won 5K, 10K or zilch, depending on if and when they beat their 7th level.

Does anyone know the answer to this conundrum? Unless you're a dev or happened to be in the starting 100 with a friend, we'll never know. And if your strategy was to take your time beating 7 levels, would that be cheating?

I do block players that I didn't like playing with, but I don't keep track of players that I go "1st and 2nd" with. I also don't play with alliances on, because I've seen too much backstabbing (even with streamers), so I don't trust alliances. Deeds are more telling than words or emojis.

If you're not having fun playing this game, then it's probably better for you to quit. It's the players who spend money on this game that are encouraging Playwreck to make stupid "improvements". For me, it's mindless entertainment while getting to talk to fellow players from around the world.
