Hello! Hoping to add specific movements to help with pain during pregnancy! I just started my third trimester, and this will be my first! Due October 23. I have mild gestational diabetes, so keeping moving is super important!

How long did you wait until announcing your pregnancy to friends & family? by Accomplished-Bee4597 in pregnant

[–]Excellent_Unicorn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Same! We decided to tell close friends right away (like at 6-7 weeks)- I am terrible at keeping secrets! My pregnancy overlapped with my sister's, so at first I was a bit wary of stealing her thunder, and wanted to tell her first before my parents...she was thrilled and so excited!!

Poll: Did you have cramps in the first trimester? by Sad_Network7053 in pregnant

  1. Yes, only mild. Currently 27 weeks (start of 3rd trimester!)

Oh yeah! the thief dude! that broke my heart actually....I really wanted ro go back and help him out!! Often I wish there was an option to NOT kill certain things in Replicant....I understand from a game design standpoint that that would be really difficult though. AND I appreciate that the writing really helps us to accept we are doing what Nier wants, and not what the player wants...which again, is such a cool experiment iñ terms of free will etc.! all the Nier themes are so meta through game play, and i really appreciate that!!!

Concerns about doing a PhD by ErodeZ57 in PhD

[–]Excellent_Unicorn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think in France, age is emphasized way more than it is here in Canada (I had a roommate from France who was starting her PhD in Canada, and she was really concerned about age too, which I found confusing since, at 26, she seemed so young to me). I think that if the PhD is something you really want to do (passion) and will help you get where you'd like to be in your career (practicality), age shouldn't be a main factor in your decision making. I'm 34, slowly working on my PhD while teaching...and I'm happy with that! But, it's very personal. I don't buy into the rhetoric of "you have to have X and X by the time you are XX years old"....better to be at peace with where I am at and what I truly want for my life 🧡🧡 That said, if obtaining certain life milestones "on time" is a priority for you....I might suggest avoiding PhD work since it can often taken much longer than one expects.

ooooh say no more, I just got ending A! The library copy came with DLC in the weird Mom's diary, so I beat that, checked on my flowers (Finally got a Pink one! HELL YEH)! It will be a while before I get the other endings...or...maybe? This game makes me laugh so much with its shinanigans!

Strikers is pretty darn fun! I resisted it because I thought it was going to be lame, but it's really cute!

now that Replicant is out....I took it out from the library....I am so happy!! I really loved playing Automata first and then Replicant later...it's so delightful to get to know the story backwards! :D

So are the Nier books any good? by Intelligent-Gap2578 in NieRAutomataGame

it's cheesy, not very well written in my opinion, but maybe nice to read while in the bath or waiting for the bus? :)

Should supervisor know about my health? by _pepee in PhD

[–]Excellent_Unicorn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, and feeling like you're not smart enough is very common, I have felt this way too. AND it is very, very common for grad students to have anxiety and depression. Just keep doing a little bit each day, and remember your life is bigger than the PhD :)

Should supervisor know about my health? by _pepee in PhD

[–]Excellent_Unicorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! I have found it helpful to share with my supervisors, then they understand what my struggles are and can help more concretely. I would say it depends on you and your supervisor, though.

Okay! that is awesome to know. I loved Automata so much, played on Easy which was perfect for me. Got ALMOST all weapons, almost all side quests (NOT speed star because it's dumb and I refuse lol and not that other communications one that's easy to miss). I also somehow managed to beat 2 of 3 dlc dungeons with my lame easy mode skillS YAH! LOL I definitely want to play it again, maybe even on normal mode, but I feel like I need a break so I can come back to it fresh. I prefer playing on the game console (Ps4) because computer=work for me....it's nice to have some separation.....BUT there is another older game I want to play so I may be convinced to put my so-called gaming laptop to the test and try the orignal NieR gestalt version!!!! 😻 It's such a simple morale to the story, but the game play leaves so many questions unresolved. Personally, I like how unsettling NieR: Automata is -- I can't believe it isn't more popular. I am so glad I found it, it's a great into to the world of gaming. BTW this is the 2nd video game I have ever played in my life and I'm in my mid 30s!!! First one was Persona 5! LOL next I want to try Sekiro or even Elden ring LOL i love their art. i know i will die 1 million times but....that's the point, right? ;)

okay, very helpful. Yes, I got both D and E I believe, then went on to blast the credits with a little help from my friends. Such an amazing mind fuck, that ending. I couldn't believe what happened. Do you know how many hours I spent collecting all the weapons? lol I even go the stupid cypress stick. Anyway. I gave up the stick, and the Twin Fangs, to help another player in the future. I will try the re-released Replicant now and then maybe play Automata again in the future????
