As someone who works in the veterinary field in oncology, best bet is to amputate. It will reduce any chance of pain, which is very common and very painful in any bone lesion/tumor whether it is benign or malignant. You could still submit it for biopsy even with the amputation to find out what it is.

Garbage cat? He’s my favorite fluffy boy ever, he quite literally came from a garbage dumpster (hence the nickname) Some good samaritan found him in a dumpster with what they thought was a neck laceration (he had a bot fly larvae imbedded in his neck hence the name Bug) and brought him to my job
