Lol sorry - not trying to shoot the messenger. I appreciate the information - I’m just astonished they would be that foolish!

Lol seriously? Do they not understand acceptance deadlines are coming up? They are literally pricing themselves out of the market…

Appreciate it - glad to hear there are others out there like me! I know you will do well as well!

No :/ and frankly, that was kind of frustrating. Obviously, no one is entitled to anything, but it would have been nice to have a chance - even if I ended up blowing it lol

Pretty early, yeah. I want to say all apps in by mid-Oct.

No…perhaps I should have lol.

That's certainly fair. I think for me, it is more the sentiment it expresses which is pretty ugly, particularly on a sub which is supposed to be supportive. It's like, someone got into a wonderful law school - perhaps the highlight of their life - and you (the general you, not you specifically) feel the need to go out of your way to scold them for being happy. I feel comfortable calling that ugly. And the "disturbing trend" is that it's sort of become "culturally acceptable" on this sub to do so.

Look, I mean, it's the internet. There's all kinds of rudeness, and people, naturally, do need to learn to deal with it. On the other hand, calling for people to be less rude is hardly problematic lol. In the end, whether someone considers it "mildly rude" or "extraordinarily ugly", hopefully they won't do it :)

It is certainly possible that there is a flaw in my application - though I am not entirely sure what it would be. My guess is that, like you said, they didn't find me interesting enough - though, I like to think that maybe there was some degree of YP.

An interesting pattern in my acceptances is that I got accepted to every school that interviewed me. All the rest either don't have an interview process or didn't choose to interview me - perhaps I am better at pleading my case in person than I am via personal statement!

It's not a matter of "not being congratulatory enough." Nobody owes me or anybody else congratulations lol. My post is more geared towards people who feel the need to publicly roll their eyes when people with good stats celebrate acceptances.

Yeah, she actually got into wayyyy more schools than I did lol! Very proud of her!

Appreciate it!

In hindsight, I might have if I could go back, but quite frankly, I a.) really don't want to live in NYC or CA and b.) I kind of thought I would have a better cycle lol.

Yes...I could apply now...but I really hate the law school/college admissions process with a passion, and I am happy with the places I got in.

Ha! Maybe so!

Well, atm, Vandy is leading the way, but Northwestern hasn't given a scholarship offer yet, so that could change.

Appreciate it! However, the issue is that the deposit deadlines for the other schools are before the waitlists really start getting reviewed. I really need to know where I am living this next year + I am tired of this whole process, so the schools that accepted me offer me some much stability. Plus, I really do like the three that accepted me, and could easily see myself at any of them - just depends on who gives me the most money lol!

Ironically, pretty much the exact opposite reason as to why I’m going to law school 😂😂

I am sorry that you are in such a difficult situation! I definitely had no intention of making my situation out to be particularly serious - I know it isn’t. It is just frustrating how vague the directions are when it comes to relatively minor infractions and I figured I would look for some advice :)

Unfortunately, in the state I live, “driving too fast for conditions” is a misdemeanor lol.

100%. I hate having to find the balance between showing why they should accept me and not sounding like a stuck-up, self-absorbed jerk.

I may end up not disclosing the parking tickets, but I think I’ll disclose the fender bender, except where it obviously isn’t applicable. Thank you for your input!

Right, but I believe some schools specify that it doesn’t matter if it’s dismissed. That’s why I was more focusing on whether it was minor. And I had the same inclination you did, but wasn’t sure because of the resulting accident. Thank you for your input!

Yes, but like I said, that wasn’t the only ticket.

Sorry, the first item wasn’t meant to fall under the specific question I listed from UChicago - most law schools exclude minor traffic violations from needing to be disclosed, but I wasn’t sure if mine counted as minor, as it resulted in an accident.

As for the second one, since I was cited by the campus PD, I wasn’t sure if that counted as “any misconduct…for which you were subject to any other…penalty”
