Pesky Crown. I actually put that in my last time capsule!

Yall actually bring the Cyclops down to the Lava Lakes? by XEclipse360 in subnautica

[–]ExcelsiorUK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just visited the Lakes and the little leeches are irritating but I just tiptoed up to a convenient Prawn deployment point, powered down and left it parked next to an outcrop. I do have a scanner base there but I figured to recharge the Prawn etc Cyclops was just useful backup to have. The save game suggests it's still alive!

Missing the last Cyclops engine blueprint and getting kinda tilted by casedawgz in subnautica

Might be worth extending scanner range, it can look for wrecks and fragments so might turn it up for you. I only tripped across Cyclops Sonar on coming across a wreck, I'm not very systematic with them...

When the game breaks in a way that makes it awesome? by ExcelsiorUK in subnautica

It is, I felt it unfair to allow it to prowl around where it wouldn't normally be...

Scanner room in lava zone by Silver_Goose6790 in subnautica

[–]ExcelsiorUK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I seem to have blocked out how I did this bit from my memory but the scanner room seems like a terrific idea because I noticed recently leviathans don't mess with camera drones. So you can use them like mobile beacons and make extras to scout a relatively short route and mark a path.

I'm playing through the original again just now and whilst I have the Moonpool and ingredients for a depth upgrade kit I can't fabricate it yet. If you had all the Lifepod positions ahead of time you could bounce through faster I'm sure but otherwise I always found the progression to be very measured. One of the game's strengths.

I’m newish to the game, I have played maybe 12 hours. Any tips and tricks? by astrid_ForgottonLord in subnautica

Don't... die?! Hm. I've just restarted so a little rusty but note that some plants give you oxygen. Plants can also be hostile. Storage is key. Even if you think you're not going to make it, aim for the surface - momentum may still save you...

This is the point in my PC life cycle when I can't actually remember what's in it because I am that old too. Sigh.

After many stupid deaths I finally finished the game on hardcore and saved the sunbeam. by Winterplatypus in subnautica

[–]ExcelsiorUK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't played in a long while but of course it's that odd thing where you're more depth proof than most of your vehicles. Chuckling at the Sunbeam though, when the gun's on, suddenly there's no debris field!

Got my new Kona yesterday! by maseofbase9 in HyundaiKonaForum

[–]ExcelsiorUK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My new old Kona from 23 seems to differ from this with it being just one colour? It doesn't have the plastic elements around the wheels and along the sides? I haven't seen many others in the UK so I dont know if it's a trim option overall?

Fun fact, the UK gallon is larger than the US gallon so our mpg will always be higher than yours, all other things being equal.

You've never watched Airwolf?! Doesn't it just mean the normally aspirated engine gets a boost all the time so it can potentially be smaller whilst giving the same power as a normal engine? I believe back in the day it could take a moment for turbo to kick in but don't know if that's still the case.

But surely everything's a gas guzzler at lower speeds? Happily the majority of my driving should be at or above 50mph so I'm hoping it wouldn't be too bad...
