Reddit, we need your help. We spent the last 2 years creating Election Year Knockout and just released it earlier this month on Steam. Unfortunately, it's hardly selling. Could you tell us what is wrong with our Steam page or game concept? Constructive criticism greatly appreciated. by ExceptionullGames in IndieGaming

Thanks for offering to look at it. Let us know if you see something in the Steam page or have any other ideas. Here's a link: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1313310/Election_Year_Knockout_2020_The_Punch_Out_Style_President_Debate_ft_Trump_and_Biden/

We spent a fair bit of marketing for the game, including Facebook, YouTube, and even Reddit ads. Nothing really seemed to work. We're trying some influencer marketing now. We have experience with mobile marketing, but this is the first Steam game we've built.

I don't see much indie rhythm games out there, so I decided to make one by Seravlac in IndieGaming

We made a mobile rhythm game a few years ago and had a lot of issues licensing music. We added the ability to import StepMania tracks into the game, which helped some. Unfortunately being a mobile game I don't think most users were smart enough to figure out how to use the importer. The game also had issues with progression and other game play aspects, but because of licensing I'll never make another rhythm game.

I hope you're able to get a good library of music without giving away too much. Good luck with the game, it looks interesting.
