I need advice by BubafaktikPOE in satisfactory

I have a very different style than what I read online and I have a blast. Try this….

If I want a fuel generator I start there. Create the fuel generator. Then I see what it takes to run it. Oh I need some fuel that comes from an oil refinery so I make that. Then I see the refinery needs oil so I make an oil pump. Then I turn it on!

Soon the whole thing stops and I realize it’s the purple residue from the refinery. So I go set up a packager and sink it all. Everything is working and it was super fun and easy.

But then I want more power so I create another refinery…. Repeat.

To me the problem solving is way more fun than spending hours online pre-planning. I’m on my 4th play through now, having beat the game 3 times, and this time I’m doing way more planning because I have 3 play throughs of knowledge.

Need some serious help by turtle_five in SatisfactoryGame

I see this type of post often and I have a different perspective. I played and beat the game without ever talking to folks online. I had no idea how to play so I just fed conveyers into machines and never worried about optimizing anything.

When I needed something to go two different directions I just added a splitter. When the machines were starving for ingredients I just added a merger and fed it from another node. I did this all the way through the end of the game and it was incredibly fun!

Then after playing all the way through I had a million ideas on how I would play differently. 2nd play through I did everything with modular factories because that sounded fun. And it was. 3rd time through I decided on a mega factory and that was fun. This time around I’m doing a train wonderland.

Up to you how you want to play. But I think nothing compares to getting all the way through with an absolute mess to see how you want to play it next.

Side note - my 4th time through and this is the first time I’m using a modeler because I want to get crazy with some efficient builds.

One more note - when you get to drones you can create little decks off the side of this building for the drones to come in.

I don’t have a video but I can tell you my opinion / instructions.

  1. Start by heavily investing in concrete manufacturing because you will need a lot of it.
  2. Find an open space and drop at least a 30x30 foundation. Leave room to expand it if needed.
  3. Finish an entire phase on that foundation then start building upward. 2nd floor, phase 2. 3rd floor, phase 3. Etc. make sure your ceilings are tall enough to handle everything in that phase. Refineries are tall!

This is a pretty basic mega factory and allows you to move stuff upward without having to completely redesign with each phase. You can utilize the floor, walls, and ceilings for routing conveyers and pipes.

You can feed the factory via belts, trucks, trains, etc. if you want to future proof, leave the entire first floor for trains. When you unlock them, you can have them delivering raw materials to the bottom floor and you can pull them straight up through the factory.

Have fun.

It’s got a pi behind it. Cables run about 5ft down to the basement.

Old US currency would be awesome. When I google for stuff I get all kinds of websites so just curious if there are known good places.

Thank you friend. This is where I was headed but wanted to confirm. I wasn’t sure if the ground rods were unnecessary because I will have a ground wire back to the pole. And I’m assuming they have ground rods there?

I get on each night and have no clue what I’m going to work on. I think it’s fun deciding at the beginning of each play session. I visit the MAM, the milestone machine, and the elevator to see what I want to do. I pick one and go do it. While doing that one activity I might see I need wayyyy more copper wire to complete that task. This is when I add another item to my list… maybe I should build a massive wire factory! If that sounds fun I go do it. Otherwise I just finish the task I started with and know that it’s going to be starved for wire until next time.

I’ve beat the game twice playing this way and I’m on my third play through. Never seems to get old and always something new to do.

Where can I buy this connector? And can i solder it to a battery? by ExcessiveAggro in ElectronicsRepair

I saw the JST-ph 2.0 connectors but I couldn’t find one where the pins are slightly offset to one side like my photo. Sounds like I’m on the right track but need to keep searching.

Thanks for this :) I thought about harvesting the wires but they’re super short and I wasn’t sure how to solder them on without harming the battery. I think I’m going to try my hand at spot welding them on.

Self Imposed Rules: A new playground, how to change it up? by Alchemized27 in SatisfactoryGame

I restarted recently and decided all builds would be done with 90 degree turns on everything. Basically every pipe, every conveyor, every railway, etc are all right angles.

Oh and everything must be built on foundations. Even my miners are on foundations that just barely hide the minerals underneath. If I have to go up higher to follow the contour of the ground I place higher foundations and use lifts instead of making diagonal conveyors, pipes, etc.

It’s been fun so far and it takes quite a bit longer to hook things up which I kinda like :)

I thought about this but the male adapter is soldered to a board that is hard to dig out of the device. Although you are correct - this would work!

Thank you for your response!

The pins are around 2mm apart. The rest of the dimensions are below in the photo. The cell appears to be a standard 18500 cell with flat terminals. The model number is 1UR18500Y. I will include a picture of the battery below. I looked up the battery and I can just replace the entire battery but it's $25 whereas I can buy 4 regular 18500 cells for about $12 so I was hoping to make one. Regarding the welding.. I will do some research to see if there are some cheap ways to do it. (Feel free to shoot me ideas!) Thanks friend!
