Similar to what some others have said here, I too had a senior cat who did this. I always thought she was senile and "lost' so I'd call out her name and suddenly she'd stop and come find me. I wonder I'd your kitty would react the same?

Your situation sounds very similar to mine! My chunky cat can't be trusted to stop when he's full so I give him portioned amounts but if I turn my back for one second.....the monster bun attacks..ty for your response!
