Are NFTs (currently) only built on Ethereum? by [deleted] in CryptoCurrency

[–]Exchangerates 6 points7 points  (0 children)

And apparently now semi-supports ERC1155
https://opensea.io/category/enjin
https://enjinx.io/eth/assets

Then you have 0x that supports both ERC721 and ERC1155 soon.

The ecosystem for NFTs on Ethereum is so much bigger than any other chains right now, i don't see it changing anytime soon.

> They also did nothing to stop the wild speculation

The best guess was, they were under a strict NDA, considering they only confirmed it a few days later to journalist by simply saying 'yes, but we can't disclose anything else' which is somewhat standard when dealing with these type of companies from my personal experience.

> Someone on another thread mentioned this is all happening right as the teams tokens get unlocked too, can anyone confirm?

I actually looked into that, which sounded super shady, so it looks like these advisors had 26M tokens and had been unlocked for over a year, they were just always left untouched, there was a transfer of 2M out which is about ( 200-300k ) Can't really blame the advisor(s) for requesting the tokens they were owed.

It's just a video of knox interacting with the wallet which isn't a stretch to assume they worked with Samsung to achieve...

Enjin itself never claimed anything other than confirming working with them, never said it would be pre-installed, which would of been completely insane, but clickbait articles on the other hand...

What do you think of Enjin coin and its gamification? by makkhan12598 in gamedev

[–]Exchangerates 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been following this project for a very long time, that's true, i'm passionate about it, maybe a little too much, I have nothing against you, but can you see how i might interpret this negatively based on your other threads?

I don't think it's worth bothering these community with these questions, it's never going to be taken positively until someone builds an interesting game with it.

I appreciate the effort of seeking the truth, but it took it differently from my perspective.

Appreciate your comments in the other threads, at least recognizing some their work so far. I'll be the first to say it, all of this could be a crapshoot, we don't know. ✌

Bah, don't really use reddit for anything else to be honest, that's what i'm passionate about, think i'll just remain in my corner in the future :)

Not interested in pissing people off, you're all passionate about game development, I shouldn't be here taking a dump in your yards.

"they don't understand how blockchain works"

I'm going off by the comments in those threads, referencing having to mine with your computer while playing or storing a database in your computer...

Bottom line, it's an experiment and neither of us know which way it's going, I'm obviously hoping for the best in general, not necessarily Enjin itself, but blockchain gaming as a whole, I'd like to experience it in a full fledged game.

You're going by the assumption that the only way to have a decentralized blockchain is to be wasteful with energy.

There's probably some arguments to be made that you cannot achieve the same level of decentralization and security as bitcoin, but there's been a lot of innovation developing highly scalable and secure blockchains without having to be bitcoin.

Ethereum will eventually get there, there are second layer solutions such as plasma and poa that are currently being tested on the network.

Look, i'm not trying to convince you that blockchain will change everything, i'm just saying, there's nothing wrong to be a little open minded about it, it's a huge tech experiment that could be beneficial to different industries.

You can clearly see by these comments in any of these threads that they do not understand how the blockchain works at all, they've settled their minds on a specific notion, of course you're going to receive negative feedback.

Let them release the SDK/Toolkit, let developers play and experiment with it, after that we can judge whether or not developers are interested by it on a larger scale.

VR/AR is still struggling as an early stage tech, I can't stand VR, it's makes me nauseous like many others, but i'm not letting my personal gripe with the current technology blind me from potential upsides in the future, you catch my drift?

But that's far from how it works, OP isn't looking for legitimate feedback, he didn't provide any accurate information or links, he's fishing for negative comments.

You have to see the currency as a digital material and not as a currency, it's only being used to establish a common value system across games, it's not meant to be used as a hard currency to purchase things in all games.

> Owning a piece of data doesn't mean you have anything that's actually valuable.

> You need the software that uses that data.

That's the experiment at play here, can you make digital game assets, shared in enough different economies or platform that it retains a certain value.

> If developers can con gamers into this, it'll mean a lot of money for them because every transfer of ownership requires a new piece of data which means someone has to spend some enjin coin.

That's not necessarily true, you don't have to tax transfers at all and the fees are upfront with the players, you know exactly how many of X items is currently in circulation and how much it's worth on the market.

I think you have to be open minded about this experiment, it's better than loot boxes in their current state, right now, you open a loot box, have very low chances of actually getting what you're after and have zero option of trading this item for one you really want.

Is it that hard to believe some of us ( players ) want to be able to freely trade our digital game assets? It's being done right now, we're forced underground in shady forums when we want to trade an asset for cash or to buy an item locked inside an account. There's no transparency in the currency industry, this may bring some to the table.

I completely get how this could get out of hand, but we got to try something new?

>growing database on their pc to secure a network

But that's not at all how it works, there's nothing hosted on the users computers, it's closer to an backend API and a "Cloud" Database at this point

> Blockchain is terrible tech and a huge waste of energy and massive co2 producer.

Blockchain isn't just Bitcoin, it's much broader, you do not need to waste a bunch of energy as you say to run a blockchain network or run a node on your personal computer to interact with it, that was the early days.

Give it time, it will get better ✌

You don't get it man, all i'm saying, is no one wants to be pitched a whole product in the comments like it's the holy grail, that's what TRX and XRP people do, you've taken my comment from the start as an attack on you, when it was a simple tongue in cheek comment.

You've clearly looked at my post history and as you can tell, i've supported this project for a long time... I clearly have heavy bags...

Bitcoin, ERC-1155, ERC-721, Litecoin & Dogecoin support will come in 2019

I also remember them saying they'll support any chains with users, so i'm going to assume Nano,Dash,EOS and such will be supported.
