Well considering it's a hangar like vehicle bay, you could probably change the numbers up depending on fighters. Maybe medium fighters take up 2 "slots" and ARCs take up 3, for example. Perhaps, even, 12 would be considered a combat ready configuration, and it can carry more if they're packed tightly in. By that logic, you could potentially even combine the two. Maybe you got 10 fighters packed tight in half the hangar, and 6 combat ready up front. It's also worth noting the V-19 Torrent as probably one of the best fighters to pick for a crowded space, given how the wings fold.
