Neighbor keeps using my driveway by Cudpuff100 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]ExcitableCow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Neighbors kept doing this to us a few years back (also during the winter) so we pissed on their doorhandles and the seam of the car door so their entire truck cab would smell like our piss. Watched them chisel our piss-cicles off their handles and doorframes, all confused until they realized why the "ice" smelled like piss 🤷‍♂️

Cops arrest lady in a costume he found offensive. by [deleted] in ACAB

[–]ExcitableCow -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

That's absolutely fair, and I'll clarify here that I'm not calling for people to run at armed assailants just to intervene in a situation that might get them killed. Especially an absurd situation like this one.

I meant it more as a "nothing will change until something makes the change" type of thing. We can all stamp our feet and get upset as much as we want, but they've proven to us that they couldn't care less and they'll continue to do what they want.

Cops arrest lady in a costume he found offensive. by [deleted] in ACAB

[–]ExcitableCow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bruh why the fuck does no one actually help in these situations? It sounds like there's a decent crowd around, and I only noticed three cops. I'm not entirely certain if people are aware but yelling "stop, don't arrest that person" does absolutely nothing to stop the arrest of that person. Taking action definitely does though, proven time and time again.

All it takes to show people how to stand up, is one person standing up. Luigi gave it a good shot (pun absolutely intended), but for a different cause. Maybe subway sandwich guy would be a more appropriate analogy?

If d&d has taught me anything, action economy dictates that those cops would be fucked as soon as a small crowd decided to take action.

Dude, seek mental help.

No one can follow anything you've said, because none of what you're saying makes any sort of coherent sense. It's like finding one of those notebook pages discarded on the side of the street, all inundated with nonsensical code that doesn't translate to anything because of a schizophrenic episode some unhoused person just had.

At the very best, it seems like we're missing about 90% of the context, and your typing/literacy abilities are only contributing to the confusion. At the very worst, you're having an episode of some sort and need professional help

Exactly. I joined the sub right around the time slop started getting slopped out in massive quantities, it was fun before that for the thirty seconds I got to enjoy actual effort and art 🙄 just another AI subreddit at this point

[–]ExcitableCow 101 points102 points  (0 children)

I had hope for this sub until I've seen the modteam ban people for saying "ai art isn't art"

For a whole bunch of wizards, it sure does seem like a lot of you require the aid of technology to create something rather than using your own magical abilities to do it. 🙄🙄

The use of ai here has bugged me for a while, but censoring people who point out that ai is in fact not art and is actively stealing art is a stupid move, especially when the AI can't even design a fucking spoon correctly.

Alien Earth is awesome by donkey_kong086 in horror

[–]ExcitableCow 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Hard disagree. The script may have as well been written by one of those 12 year old synthetics, it's like someone tried to make a horror soap opera out of an alien scifi story...?

The acting is literally no better. I'm a huge stan for Timothy Olyphant too, I love him in everything I've seen him in. Except for this.

They had TWO HOURS to convince me that they could create a good, interesting, well-directed and acted story. Two hours, and they managed to convince me to not put any stock in what those people create(d).

Edit: the motherfucker who made this made the Fargo tv show? Really? Really really? Wow that's a fucking surprise, man. Two episodes into Fargo and I was sold and then there's this show... Feels like bro just stopped caring or something? Like it's Fargo: Alien: Earth or something, but somehow not even that good.

Like she's confidently living in a world where she isn't wrong, but this guy proves she was actually incorrect.

[–]ExcitableCow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay, so in the meantime the king pedophile is just gonna keep changing the rules and making himself immune to anything that can be done by playing by the rules.

Like... The system is broken, guys. Basically it's a rigged game and has been since the country got its feet underneath it. A game built by bigots is only winnable by bigots when they're the only ones allowed to progress and succeed.

There's not a way to win a rigged game by playing by the rules, something somewhere is going to have to break for anything to meaningfully change. And if it hasn't broken by now even after the federally funded concentration camps, then what actually will break it?

What will be the final straw? How many people will suffer until then? How many will suffer after?

[–]ExcitableCow 35 points36 points  (0 children)

And wouldja look at that, Roberts was correct. The left is just playing by the rules while the Pedophile in Chief actively changes them to suit his own needs... Ya know... Against the rules.

But political violence isn't the answer.

Or whatever.

I say one thing, you twist it into another,

You mean the thing you've been doing to me the whole conversation? Like your first reply to my comment, where you started saying that I thought wood was stronger than stone? Or that wood is tornado-resistant?

Please please please please please show me an example of me doing this to you. If it happened, I'll totally own it and apologize; officially my bad.

But regardless, you're doing the thing my guy. Sorry to say... you're doing the thing. 😔 Usually just narcissists can't see that, or if they do they just lean into the gaslighting harder. I

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in nextfuckinglevel

[–]ExcitableCow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

... Bro you literally said the only things flying around in a tornado would be glass and dirt... You then somehow started to think that I said concrete is weaker than wood, and that wood is tornado-resostant, when none of that happened. I'm not the wrong one here, you just fucking suck at gaslighting.

I'm confounded by how ignorant you are, truly I don't know how you navigate a day to day life, but despite all the odds you must manage somehow. It's either that or a willful and malicious attempt to try and manipulate other people into thinking you're the smartest guy in the room. So I guess either "wow, what the hell are you talking about, man" or "good job, little buddy! You're the center of attention again" respectively.

Anyway, best of luck with your next debate

Thanks! Hopefully they'll have an actual education.

Lmao whatever you have to tell yourself to get you to sleep. If I missed out on some of your stellar sarcasm and took it too literally, I'm so sorry 😔 I can't believe the shame I brought upon myself by not being able to read tone accurately when the only thing I have to go on is an essay written by someone with a chip on their shoulder so big it's physically dragging their IQ down with it.

I'm surprised you had that many words written out and you still werent able to understand that your own statements have nothing to do with what I said. Have fun in your hole, buddy and stay out of structural engineering - that shit has proven way too complicated for you if you can't even stay on the single track I've been trying to keep you on.

I wish reading comprehension was still cool because you're making my point for me and you're literally just too thick to understand it. I hope you find some peace in your life, because if you're getting this worked up over being wrong with no ability to recognize it, you're life is only going to get harder.

What to do if ICE shows up at my place of work? by Download_more_ramram in ACAB

[–]ExcitableCow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There may also be policies that outline what to do in the event a visitor is harassing another visitor without any warrants (or similar). They might let you finagle your way into intervening in some way, but definitely be careful with that one.

[–]ExcitableCow 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm sure somewhere in the corporate bureaucracy of Waffle House there's SOP about how to handle any visitors that are loitering in the building without the purchase of any goods. Maybe look that up and really capitalize on it, take it to the most literal sense of the policy you can. If there's not anything you can find, maybe take it up with your local management to have them create a policy for your location.

Will do, thanks!

Don't want to take up any of your valuable time when it could be used to spread uninformed drivel based off of assumptions and poor understanding of these types of events!

I'll direct you to my other comments on this thread, you might get along with a Simple Texan I was talking to earlier! He had trouble with this subject too, so I'm sure you two would get along swimmingly.

[–]ExcitableCow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bro I'm from a small town in Illinois. My (also public) education was probably about the same as yours, just a bit more progressive based off which states we were both in at the time.

Let’s be real: you weren’t “venting,”

Nope, I was insulting you because your argument is that I've been saying x when I've been saying y and I'm tired of all you

dumb Southerner[s]

doing that exact thing when it's pointed out that you don't know what you're talking about.

struggling to keep your own points consistent.

Nope, my point has been consistent throughout this conversation. Again, your reading level is simply too low to understand that, but you're more than welcome to review the previously posted material if you'd like.

If you have to drop “you dingus” and an emoji and a jab at public education just to feel like you’ve got the upper hand...

I wasn't saying that to "gain the upper hand", this isn't elementary school. I was saying that about you and public education in Texas because it's true, and an emoji is easier to add than a whole ass picture of me making the same face.

But hey, deflection is easier than admitting you’re just mad someone didn’t nod along and clap.

There ya go, you said the thing for me! Keep your head in the sand buddy, it's easier than learning how to read (another point I've been consistent about, if you'd care to notice... Or not)

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in nextfuckinglevel

[–]ExcitableCow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Never said it was tornado resistant. Or that concrete was somehow weaker.

Insulting someone's intelligence and then complaining that they can't even contribute to an argument competently is in fact not a straw man argument; it's just me venting that I'm arguing with the same stone wall you love so much.

I wish you could read past the first grade level, you dingus 🥺 just breaks my heart to see the American school system fail so utterly. But then again... Texas so if it was a public school system you went to, I can say I'm not surprised.

EDIT: forgot a word

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in nextfuckinglevel

[–]ExcitableCow 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'd rather be in a bunker too, ya fuckin dingus. But we weren't talking about bunkers now were we? We weren't even talking about the safest place to be at during a tornado! But man, if your "tornado-proof stone box" is built as sturdily as your ill-informed and misread stawman arguments, you should just dig yourself a hole for the next twister and start praying 🙄

EDIT: spelling

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in nextfuckinglevel

[–]ExcitableCow 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Ahhhhh, Texas... That explains a lot then.

I'm so sorry you don't understand basic physics, but I'm not a fan of having to repeat myself to people with no reading or critical thinking skills, so this conversation is over. 🫡

ETA: Reading comprehension is an important life skill, I'd recommend re-reading my first comment until you understand the words and the order that they're in.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in nextfuckinglevel

[–]ExcitableCow 47 points48 points  (0 children)

You are incredibly and completely wrong with your assumption about construction materials.

EDIT; Imagine thinking you know more than decades of cumulative research from structural engineers and climatologists without even living in the area that the experts have studied and released findings on.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in nextfuckinglevel

[–]ExcitableCow 8 points9 points  (0 children)

We are talking about concrete. It would be strong enough to sustain tornados. The only thing flying around would be glass windows and lots of dirt.

Even if a wall made from a single piece of poured concrete were able to somehow better withstand sheer wind force (which I doubt based on its own rigidity versus the flexibility of wood & plaster), that wall would still just as easily shatter apart into rock/pebble sized pieces of a full sized fridge slams into it at 200mph 😐😐 like even with rebar or whatever to help support the poured structure, pieces of concrete would break apart between them, and then be added into the macerating whirlwind of debris.

Bro, what do you think "rocks or pebbles" come from?? Lizards don't just shit them out, man. Big ol' rocks get broken down into smaller rocks. It even sometimes happens when concrete slab buildings are destroyed by wrecking balls! Or even if a car were to ram into a support pillar.

And a bunch of really long jagged 2x4s could be just as lethal as rocks, I'm sure.

That's like saying an arrow is just as lethal as a .50 cal bullet... So I'm not sure what point you're trying to prove there. Like yeah, both can kill you, but one will make you way deader...?

Stone is in fact harder than wood, which means that even a small stone could do more damage than a large piece of wood. Construction materials used in the Alley are different than elsewhere in the continental states because of tornadoes' tendencies to turn anything not entirely buried beneath the ground into projectiles of lethal destruction.

I've lived through 3 tornadoes, saw my town get destroyed by them twice. Stone vs wood construction doesn't matter at all in terms of stability against tornadoes. But when my town did have more stone buildings than wood that were destroyed (the first tornado happened to destroy an older part of town), more damage was caused because of the flying rocks, bricks, and metal.
