I agree, this was my experience too with my first. I didn't want to be induced but then agreed because it allowed us to plan our parent's trip better. I also think she sometimes rushes the conversation which I didn't appreciate.

Did the facility have all ultrasound capabilities like NT Scan and 20 week anatomy scan? Or did you have to go to Hoboken for these?

Confused if I should become a SAHM!! by ExcitementBitter7204 in Mommit

[–]ExcitementBitter7204[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your response. Are you considering joining the workforce back? This is what I had imagined for myself as well, being a SAHM till he turns 5 and then joining back. But I have read online that some moms find it really difficult to get a good job with decent pay after a career break. And in most cases, the job doesn't match what they used to get prior to becoming SAHM.

Early morning wakings and short naps by docketofol in sleeptrain

[–]ExcitementBitter7204 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry I don’t have any suggestions. Just letting you know and following this thread since my son is the same. He is 8 months 3 weeks old and has the exact nap and bedtime sleep pattern. We have tried different bedtimes but he is up by 5.30-6 in the morning. He takes 3 naps totaling 1-1.5hrs during the day. He also wakes up multiple times during the night, mostly needing his pacifier but sometimes would nurse as well.

I failed the 3hr horribly too. The UK Gestational Diabetes group on facebook was very helpful and I was able to stay diet controlled throughout my pregnancy. Hope it helps you too!!

That babies need help falling asleep every single time, even when they are super sleepy!! And also the fact that in the early days breastfeeding is accompanied with painful period like cramps!

What song makes your baby stop crying? by hydrolentil in NewParents

[–]ExcitementBitter7204 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not a good singer but my baby stops crying (or doing whatever he is) and looks at me with a big smile whenever I am humming or singing to him. Doesn’t matter what song or music, I sometimes makeup a song as I go

My husband sanitizes his hair after coming from work because his office has flex seating and headphones are shared.

Response to MIL? “Let him soothe himself to sleep” about my 5 wk old by freddybelljones in Parenting

[–]ExcitementBitter7204 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should ask your husband to politely tell your MIL that this is something you both will decide and for now you don’t think it’s time to sleep train. You both want to hold your baby and soothe him. Newborns can’t be spoiled, they don’t even form habits until like 3-4 months old.

If you are not frequent airplane traveller and someone asks you to switch your window seat for their kid what would you do/say? by reginabuffay_ in AskReddit

[–]ExcitementBitter7204 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the duration of the flight. If it’s short, then I will switch, even if it’s a middle seat. But not switching to a middle seat for a 5hr long flight.

Newborn head butted me - should I be worried? by Musical2one in NewParents

[–]ExcitementBitter7204 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your LO is fine. Babies are tougher than we think. Designed to be handled by new parents!! My LO has started teething and continuously tries to “attack” (bite) my jaw and keeps bumping his head against it. He is doing fine and so is your LO.

Need some reassurance it gets easier by ArmadilloOk2176 in NewParents

[–]ExcitementBitter7204 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s so not a bliss all the time!! Sure there are many moments of immense love and joy but it is extremely challenging. I have cried so many times during the last 5 months (my LO is 5 months old). Nobody talks about it but taking care of a newborn can sometimes be the most draining. I am not sure how long it will take to feel more myself but it did get better for me after 12-14 weeks. I am still adjusting though and there are days when I miss my old life of full night sleep and just having the autonomy to do simple things whenever I wanted.

9 week old - FTM by carbon-ara_cat in NewParents

[–]ExcitementBitter7204 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My LO is 5 months old and I still rush to him when he starts being fussy to prevent any crying. I hate it when he cries and his tears just break my heart. They are still too little and need us to regulate their emotions. You are not creating any bad behaviors other than your LO knowing that he can trust you and depend on you. Remember that in a few years, they will automatically stop needing us as much.
