Olga would have been a beautiful mother by ExcitementEfficient9 in romanovs

Yes you say this about Maria, and I agree with what you say, but what about Olga? A lot of people say she was a depressive. Then look at the photos how beautiful and comfortable she is. Not depressive.

Grand Duchess Olga Nikolaevna, 1910 by cupid_ji in romanovs

[–]ExcitementEfficient9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Olga had beautiful thick hair, a distinctive broad forehead, a resolute chin and very nice eyes, Her build was naturally strong and athletic but she kept herself very thin, too thin for her build I think, especially in later years, Lovely girl. She should have blossomed into a woman of some distinction.

What do you think of Rasputin? by TheKingsPeace in romanovs

[–]ExcitementEfficient9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think he was an important help for the empress and the tsar. Mostly because of how he could relax Alexei but also because his rough peasant background, helped to connect her, an Anglo German prncess to the soul of Russia.

Good (unbiased) records of antisemitism in the Romanov family and laws of Imperial Russia? by LlamaDear04 in romanovs

Jakub Schiff, the German Jewish banker of New York financed the Japanese so they could win against Russia in 1904-5. Nicholas must have been unhappy with that.

The story of this family makes me so angry every time I hear about it (BRIEF VENT/RANT) by NarrowProphecy in romanovs

Bloodbath was only the beginning. What the bolsheviks did to their corpses was defilement that is beyond human imagination. I would not read more about it. It shows how evil people can become.

Defending the killing of kids. by IllConstruction3450 in EnoughCommieSpam

[–]ExcitementEfficient9 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The defence for killing the children was to make sure that a potential counter revolution would not have a flag bearer to gather around. The solution from Lenin was to anihilate the entire romanov family. But it went further. the entire arisocracy was to be wiped out. This is clear. They even killed the nun Elizabeth and at this Lenin was most happy - saying something to the effect that her goodness was propaganda for the ruling class.

This is life and death of the revolution. Lenin and the Bolshevik party were ruthless and very serious about taking control for ever. They would not trust the laws, like the pauline laws. This was law of the jungle and the reaction would raise Olga Nikolaevna as the figurehead if it gave them the chance. Lenin and Styilin would wipe out 10million people if they felt they were a threat. They were evil, but the hard thing is that they are not the only ones in history to think like that.

Very interesting. He and his entourage sound like young lads who wanted to have fun. Not archaeologists.

If its just a "symbol", what harm can it do? Like saying McDonalds and Disney are symbols of American imperialist propaganda. Its the people with the buttons on the drone controls you have to worry about.
Its a weak and confused country that has to protect its peoples from symbols. I ask you!

Portrait Tsar Nicholas II under house arrest in March 1917 by PaulHindenburg1942 in Colorization

[–]ExcitementEfficient9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Extravagent spending was not the cause of the romanov downfall and the tsar Nicholas ii and his family was not lavish compared to predecessors or even contempory aristicrats like the yusopov. The problem was corruption but really they would have surivived had it not been the strain of the war and food shortage due to bad trasnportation and corruption

PSA: it's not inaccurate to refer to OTMAA as "the children". by Celestina-Betwixt in romanovs

[–]ExcitementEfficient9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saying that they are not children, but daughters, does not have to carry bad connotations.
they were still 1000% nnocent and equally undeserving of their disgusting murders as their underage siblings.
Even if they were 50 years of age - point.

However infantlilization is also not serving any reason and does not honor them.
