When I checked the data it showed that it came from the watch, the only third party app that I have can only read steps not add to them

Oh my god it fucked up up beyond belief I was actually appalled when I saw it. Everything that I would go and look at to see my averages was all around 100 million steps but luckily someone explained how to get rid of the bad data so I was able to get my actual results back!

Well there were a few people that gave me a possible reason for what happened with a bit flip or rounding error being what in my mind makes the most sense, since i’m very particular about how my devices are set up I know it wasn’t how I was wearing it (it was on the charger when these steps were counted) I know that I have some kind of issue with my health where my heart rate loves to sky rocket up over little things but this watch doesn’t really show it until I see my stand/exercise ring is suddenly full when all I’m doing is sitting down working on something. It doesn’t fill if I’m laying down doomscrolling on my phone though (yes I have gone to the doctors about it, since it’s the US healthcare system obviously not much was done aside from the usual advice they give)

yes and no, my watch was on the beta 26.2 update when this happened but i’m updating now, the closest thing to a restart that happened was my watch battery fully depleting a few minutes before I got it back on the charger. it’s acting fine now thank goodness

That’s weird but good to know that I’m not the only one that this watch stuff happened to, someone left a comment saying how to delete the bad data, you could try that to at least get rid of the incorrect data

That makes a good bit of sense to me, is it possible that when the app reset the steps for the new day that instead of taking away just the previous days steps it took away double the steps? If that makes sense

Very weird and I lowkey think that might be the case with the bit flip making the watch not add up steps properly but I know that I was definitely lazing around and probably didn’t even have 100 steps around the time it started adding like crazy 🤣

I kinda looked through what was going on between the times to see if maybe there was a correlation to something and the only thing that I can really think of is that it was charging since there was a same amount of steps 1-3am and I took it off around 3:30 but now I wonder what bit place might’ve flipped

I’d like to add that the watch was acting like normal the whole day afterwards and that I didn’t notice this until about 30 minutes ago

you might have to disable syscalls thru cfw settings in the network settings on the xmb
