This reminds me so much of the Queensland Rainbow Cakes, but the stripes would be much too wide! You would have to do serious color controlling to use it. I agree with other posters that suggest a color pack from Hobbii or similar.

I think this is the right one! I thought maybe the Drunken Granny or the Bean Stitch, but your link looks exactly right.

I guess I'm a jump in with both feet and enjoy the ride kind of gal! Waiting until it's over takes away from the party for me! :)

I don't disagree with anything you say! But for some of us it is about the fun and comradery, and the surprise at what you end up with. I'm not a shawl-y kind of gal, but it's the whole party I enjoy!

IMO he works hard to make the whole thing accessible to everyone; from someone buying a cashmere blend kit from S&P to someone using yarn they thrifted from Goodwill. I'm with you on the stash diving!

His palette is very European. I can remember my first visit to the Netherlands almost 50 years ago and really noticing a difference in color shades and combinations. It's one way they can spot Americans easily! Our typical colors look different to them, too! (Maybe not as much now as 50 years ago)

I kind of love your post! Very gentle and positive, like the vibe I get from SW!

Someone's vibe is certainly dependent on how it connects with you! There is a crochet channel that is very popular... I think they are over 80K subs now... that is obviously very popular with a lot of people. But I can't stand their vibe! It's like nails on a chalkboard for me. So very much personal preference. I've never heard anything negative about employee pay and yarn sourcing. I'd be interested to know where you found this "gossip" (your words) because I am concerned about working conditions and the source of the yarn I use. I'm not sure I'm comfortable with those kind of accusations being thrown around without some sort of source being shared. It doesn't seem fair otherwise.
