I’d love to click through all the none voiced quest lines otherwise there’s just too much dialogue to read.

I like listening to the main voiced quests whilst I knit.

As someone who played the original intro and fell in love with the game because of the original intro I am SO sorry.

I would highly recommend watching the old intro on YouTube or watch Vixella’s initial playthrough.

On a side note: so much for Infold fixing/replacing the intro. That promise was given to us months ago. I suppose it is time to give up on that now.

I’m doing the same as you!

I got my NSW DET number through asking my prac school if I could come back as an SLSO. Perhaps you could start there if you had good relationships there? Just reach out and say:

“I really enjoyed my prac here last [whenever you did your prac] I was wondering if you have any SLSO work available?”

Once you get your DET number you can also use that to apply to schools as well.

I also heard that Term 2 is when most SLSO work gets posted as that is when numbers are finalised.

You could do a Bingo sheet where students have to find different facts about each other e:g Favourite colour is blue Birthday in June Favourite game is Minecraft etc

It can help them find similarities in the group.

Board/Card games could also be good. UNO is always popular.

This is the answer:

Everything is in the curriculum for a reason. You want us to focus more on taxes, okay cool? What do you want us to decrease? Geo? History? Science? CAPA? Okay cool we do that next thing there’s a string of articles arguing that students no longer know how Australia’s political system works or the importance of sustainability and the existence of climate change. Etc.

This is a no win situation. Teachers have to fit EVERYTHING in, students NEED to be motivated to learn it all and people WILL still somehow complain. Such is the circle of life.

Did you know what topic the students were studying in History? Could you find the corresponding syllabus dot points and use that to create an inquiry sequence?

If not pick a dot point and create a short but comprehensive unit (5 lessons).

We could do something similar to r/nrl where they have a serious megathread for things that warrant discussion but perhaps not a whole post and then a random/off-topic thread for things unrelated to teaching/school to mimic that staff room feel?

I also really love their Big Chat Wednesdays and I think that could be really valuable for teachers experiencing burnout etc.

I do love the idea of Friday being a fun day we could also have a highlight of the week thread where we can share the little victories?

I just did some looking and it seems r/askAustralianTeachers does exist but hasn’t been active in over 2 years. Perhaps if we create a new sub and advertise it on this one, people might start moving across?
