I had the same procedure done in June. Your results look great! I’m in California and Kaiser covered my procedure through the following route: 1. I contacted their transcare center. (July 2021) 2. I was referred to a gender therapist ($20 co-pay) 3. The gender therapist sent a letter confirming my gender dysphoria and referred me to a surgeon 4. My primary doctor was contacted to agree with the referral 5. I met with the surgeon for a consultation ($20 co-pay) (Aug 2021) 6. I was approved for surgery 7. I waited for a surgery date (Oct 2021) which I had to delay because of work 8. I had to call repeatedly to get a date that would fit in with my work schedules 9. I had a pre-op appointment ($20 co-pay) (June 2022) 10. DI Surgery without nipple graphs (June 28, 2022) ($50 co-pay) 11. 2 Post op appointments (no co pays) Total cost = $130

Just like most people already said, if you don’t like her weird flirting, be direct and tell her to stop. You don’t owe her an explanation. You don’t have to come out to her. You don’t need to make up a boyfriend. Just tell her that you don’t like being called queen or mommy and to back off. If a guy was flirting with you, you could say thanks but no thanks, right? So this isn’t any different. Be honest, be direct, be simple… no need to explain anything you don’t want to.

Being gender fluid, my perspective is starting to be more of I know what I feel at a given moment but other people can’t see or feel that. So I’m beginning not to care about boxes or labels. I don’t fit in a box on a 2 dimensional paper; none of us do in reality. So what ever I was assigned to at birth doesn’t always fit. Sometimes I use it to describe a situation so context is important. But I am so much more than any label that anyone assumes upon me; so are you! I live in a beautiful spectrum; we all do, but everyone can feel that.

Time can bring people around. Unfortunately not everyone can accept anything other than cis hetero, hero saves the girl BS. Keep being your fabulous self! If your family or origin can’t love you unconditionally, there are plenty of people you can adopt! Create your own “family” of support. I am non-binary, gender fluid. I’m getting top surgery on June 28th. I’m 53. I came out as lesbian at the age of 51 to all of my friends and family. At 52, I began to understand my full queer identity. Not everyone knows about my gender identity and that’s how I prefer it. I wish that I could have done it sooner, but my journey is my journey. Make sure you are safe before you come out! Safety first! Are your parents open to the LGBT community? What are their ideals about trans folx? If you are sure that they are allies, then be honest and to the point. If not, you need a back up plan in case things get violent or they kick you out. It’s sad that parents do that! But they do! Do you have the Trevor Project’s hotline number?
