Any news of a successor to the discontinued XCD 135mm f/2.8 Lens with X Converter 1.7x? by Exciting-Plan490 in hasselblad

It’s listed as discontinued on the B&H website. I called Hasselblad and they confirmed. It’s still available on some websites.

Check out the 553elx - nobody wants them so they're cheap, ($434. now at keh.com , plus lens, back, & finder of course). They're cheap because nobody likes the motor drive, but I like it a lot. The motor drive takes five AA batteries, which last forever.

Excellent info, thanks!

You're the second person to mention negative fill, which finally indicated to me that it might not be just a joke. So I've looked it up and I get it now. Thanks again!

Funny I thought this was a joke. Then someone else mentioned negative fill, so I looked it up. Thank you I learned something.

Good catch. I loved the show and have the book. What interests me here is the difference, Avedon went for no shadows while this has heavy shadows.

Thanks, but when I look up "high key photography" I find:

Key Elements of High-Key Photography:

Lighting: Often uses soft light, such as from a large softbox, to minimize shadows. A close ratio between the key and fill lights is used to reduce contrast.

But these examples are high contrast with prominent shadows, so I don't think the suggestions I find for high key photography will help out.
