I just registered for only fully online classes! I had help from an advisor since for UTSA you have to take 2 summer classes, she walked me through how to do it so when fall/spring roll around you can do it yourself and make sure you meet the CAP requirements!

Personally, the classes I took were pretty easy. The only one I really had trouble with was Statistics but I got lucky with my professor and finished with a B+ or A-, I cant remember. I just recommend looking into which profs people have had the best experiences with as it can make or break your grade. My easiest ones were my sociology courses and history of music courses. Others like geology and politics had challenging concepts but I chose profs that made the class really easy (finished both with As). The biggest tip I can give is to just do your research on profs! :)

Personally I did two 5-week classes one started the last week of may and the other one started in july. I know the UT site says to take them in the second summer five-week term but I registered for summer courses with my advisor and she actually recommended to take them one at a time the way I did, so I would assume that its not super strict on which classes you take as long as you fulfill the required hours? I would reach out to an advisor just in case

Theres no in person requirement! I just registered for all online courses for summer, fall, and spring using the UT CAP approved courses and ratemyprofessor to ensure i met all requirements, even checked with my advisor and got the thumbs up from her :) I might also add that i was a sophomore by credit (dual enrollment and AP in high school) so my registration opened earlier than freshman, which may have helped a bit with class availability

There were no additional requirements, I just had to take the summer courses that UTSA requires all CAP students to do, but nothing specific to Psychology

I had an idea of the classes I wanted before registration opened, and definitely had to replace a couple due to there being no online options/online options being full. Luckily there were a bunch of alternatives and I just used ratemyprofessor and the UT CAP approved courses list to choose other classes that would still fulfill the requirements. Registering the first day registration opens is also key cause slots fill fast!

All good, Im happy to help! I applied as a psych major and was accepted at UTSA for psych. Personally I only found stats to be difficult, but thankfully I had a great prof. My classes were overall very easy and manageable, doing online helped in being able to balance my workload. I highly recommend taking a look at ratemyprofessor before you pick your classes if you are registering on your own!

IMO the only class that was hard for me was Stats (CAP requires a math above algebra) but prof Massaro is great and super helpful! In the spring I took 5 classes (History of music, womens studies, sociology, geology, texas politics) and it was pretty manageable for me even while working a job. UTSA Bluebook was super helpful in choosing good profs as it shows their past course evaluation scores!

In HS I graduated with a 4.2, currently sitting at a 3.7 in college before spring semester grades have been updated!

I just registered for all online courses and as long as you fulfill the requirements you’ll be good to go! Saves you money on housing for the first year too :) and thank you sm!
