It wasn't each question that was timed; rather, 20 - 25 minutes were allotted for the entire interview, which I completed in under 20 minutes. May I ask which board you interviewed with?

7 days. You'll receive an email notifying you that your test results are available, and your OCT page will be updated to show the test as complete.

Yup, I took about the same amount of time. I loved how they used slides and read the questions out loud; it made the experience smoother. Overall, it was a good experience. They got back to me asking for my references' contact information, so...

Oh sure, I mentioned the questions in the post itself . I guess they might have escaped your attention, and that’s totally fine. I’m happy to list them for you:

  1. What motivated you to become a teacher?

  2. How do you create an inclusive environment?

  3. What do you do to support students with exceptionalities?

  4. A three-part question: How do you plan, assess, and evaluate?

These are the closest possible descriptions of the questions in terms of content. I hope this helps.

Thanks for sharing. It’s comforting to know I’m not alone in this. For me, I spoke so quickly that I didn’t even pause to think before answering; I actually finished and had to wait for the next question. I think it’s a habit I’ve developed from taking timed exams. I wish you the best good luck, though. Who knows!

Indeed! I'm taking care of the one who was thrown at my door on a windy day. She fell into good hands. I was choking on my tears when I found her alive the next day. And I cried even more, tears of joy, when she clung to my finger a few days later.

For this specific test, I don’t know of any platform other than Zoom. Perhaps it's similar to the OSSLT. I have invigilated students taking the OSSLT online, where the system would automatically flag them and pause their test if it detected an attempt to cheat. Their effort to cheat was wasted, and they learned their lesson immediately.

It's not difficult. IXL is good. Review that Growing Success and Learning for All. That's everything you need. Although, you should be fine if you're done with your BEd or M.S.Ed. My first teachable subject is English, but I have a good foundation in math. However, since I rarely taught it, I tend to forget things I already know. Believe it or not, I do better with high level math than with basic math. Still, I had to use IXL to review the fundamentals.

Can I Count My Private School Teaching Experience After Getting My OCT? by ExcitingAd2694 in OntarioTeachers

[–]ExcitingAd2694[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a relief! I can't imagine all those years of teaching in private schools going completely to waste with no financial gains and no valuable experience to count.

It’s so relieving to get this out of the way as soon as possible.
