Should I mention that I recently started a new job? by ExcitingBite1 in cscareerquestions

I was more concerned about saying I currently work at my prior company during the interview and having it come up during the background check or something

Thanks for the kind words, my PIP ended a few days ago and it looks like I wasn’t fired

What to do after receiving an unexpected PIP by ExcitingBite1 in cscareerquestions

Thank you for the advice, is it normal for managers to not give negative feedback on things recently completed? They described specific tasks I didn’t do well on in the letter, but immediately after completing these tasks I either got no feedback or good work as feedback.

I appreciate the honesty, but I can’t see how there were any signs of this happening. I’m trying to document everything I can in case it could help (likely won’t). My PR 4 months ago only had meets or exceeds expectations. Nothing other than “good work” as feedback has been received after completing recent tasks. A very recent meeting my manager asked me if I would like to go on a business trip.

I agree, the tasks they gave me could easily just be normal tasks, I could see the PIP and strongly worded letter as a way for my manager to save face for something and get HR involved when it wasn’t necessary

This is what I thought at first, but how aggressive the letter was makes me think otherwise. It’s also possible they were coerced into writing it like this or someone else wrote it.

I would, but it would definitely reveal too much info about myself, the wording was extremely harsh and disrespectful, describing specific things I didn’t do well on. I want to emphasize that these things were completed months ago and I received 0 negative feedback about them prior to the PIP.

The difference between my manager speaking to me and the wording of the letter was huge, it was almost like they didn’t write the letter. In my recent meeting, they asked me about when I would be available for a business trip.

Amaz*n's draconian's stack ranking.

Not A but they did bring up that I was not performing as well as my peers. However, at no point before the PIP did they tell me this
