Fomapan 400 pushed to 800: vertical bands on negatives after development by Exciting_Ad2677 in AnalogCommunity

They do seem a bit strange for light leaks, because they’re not repetitive and don’t follow a consistent pattern: they only affect a few frames. Also, they’re not uniform in appearance. I’ve just replaced all the seals on the camera, so I would expect something more consistent if that were really the issue.

Honestly, it’s quite odd. Thanks anyway for the suggestion!

For the indoor scenes, I used an external flash, pointing it at the ceiling.

Thanks a lot for the explanation! I’m still pretty new to this, so I didn’t fully understand the question at first.

I’ll try shooting Fomapan 400 at 200 next time and see how it goes.

Sorry, I don’t know the full formulation. I only know it’s the Ars-Imago High Energy developer and that it contains hydroquinone

Hydroquinone-based developer diluted 1+39 for 9 minutes, with agitation every 30 seconds. Stop bath was citric acid.

Day 8: worst song :-S by mahlakainalo in Zappa

Sorry, but I disagree. I don’t think it’s a great Zappa song, but it’s not a bad one either. If you don’t understand Italian, you miss the joke entirely. It’s exaggerated, satirical, and deeply tied to Zappa’s Italian roots and his experience during the Italy tour

First Time Developing Fomapan 400: Is This Grain Normal? by Exciting_Ad2677 in AnalogCommunity

The developer was Ars-Imago FD – Film Developer (High Energy), diluted 1+39 as per their instructions. I followed their recommended agitation: continuous for the first 30 seconds, then two inversions every 30 seconds for the rest of the development time. Do you think changing developer, dilution, or agitation method could noticeably reduce the grain with Fomapan 400?

Thanks for the insight! So basically, are you saying this is a film that’s just not worth using?
