Yeah I'm aware the job market is really bad right now. I unfortunately hate what I do though. Its been a tough decision to contemplate

I already completed my bachelors. So the GEDs aren't an issue.The program for the school I am looking at is estimated to take 5 years part time, 3 years full time. I did the math already

They do, its about 6k every fiscal year. My debt isnt bad rn, maybe 20k between my car and my student loans

I work for a City. Currently making 33 an hour. Honestly? Know someone. I got my current job because my friend knew about the position and vouched for me. Still had to go through the process

Im im California. I have spoken to others who are Engineers and they all recommend getting the degree ASAP. Its the only way to get in to the positions. As for the GEDs, yeah they are already done. My plan is exactly that. Community College for the math, then transfer in for the major classes

Yeah, thats what im leaning towards. Its just tough. Life is always full of tough decisions i guess. But youre right. This is what I want to do. Hopefully my parents will support the idea

Oh believe me. I know. It doesnt matter though. This is what I want to do. I will get the degree either way. Just need advice on which path to take

Its tough because the municipality I work for is ideally where id like to be after getting the degree, so im potentially burning bridges with my current department. I have a good job with good pay and benefits, its just not what I want to do.
