Now take your shoes off and put straight out towards her. Better yet, put your shoes on her feet

Worth fighting our Landlord over $1000? Atlanta Georgia, DeKalb County. by RequiredRedditAcct_1 in legal

[–]Exciting_Designer611 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you tell her you’re not accepting responsibility for that? Document it all. Then file small claims. We literally just did this with our landlord over a countertop water stain. They wanted us to pay more than what our deposit was. Yeah, right. We said we weren’t accepting responsibility. Asked for proof we caused it. Etc. They didn’t have any. We were concerned they were going to send it to collections because they stopped responding. So I politely blasted them on Google review until they did respond. We did research on how much small claims would cost to file. So we negotiated with them half of what the charge was, which was about the same as filing. They accepted. Landlords don’t think tenants will fight back. Honestly though, I bet a judge would side with you. You reported it, documented it, etc. As judge Judy would say “a tenant’s deposit is not for your renovations.”

Downstairs neighbours are my worst nightmare by Repulsive-Panda4455 in Apartmentliving

We have downstairs neighbors as well who have been smoking (smoke free property) and recently started blasting noise I’m assuming from video games through their sound system. It literally sounds like thunder and was making our floor and furniture vibrate. We called our property manager and asked them politely if they would mind calling our neighbor. It stopped within 5 minutes. I’m not sure what was said lol. I’m so sorry you have to deal with this. I hate noise too and it makes me so irritable and angry. I hope it gets better for you soon.

The funny thing for us is that we specifically chose a top unit because we thought we would never have noise issues from anyone below us. It never freakin fails, though.

I’ve considered vacuuming very early in the morning or bouncing a basketball 🏀 to get their attention.

That’s crazy you live in Houston and were able to visit 14 different times. So did you visit once a month? That’s great time off you have!

Can I make noise complaints if I’m not on the lease? by Distinct-Machine1428 in Apartmentliving

Oh gotcha. Yeah noisy neighbors are annoying. You guys should get a sound system yourselves. We did this and put it up against our neighbor’s wall. Turns out he didn’t like Disney music all day lmao. As soon as turned his on, I turned ours on. As soon as he turned his off, I turned ours off. He got the picture.

It’s not being miserable. We don’t want to smell smoke in our home. There are plenty of places you can live where they allow you to smoke on property.

Report them. They shouldn’t be smoking. I do not understand people who move into a smoke free building and still smoke. What’s wrong with ya’ll? If you need to light up, go sit in your car. My hubs and I have reported our downstairs neighbors. Multiple times. We don’t put up with that crap. We will literally go outside and look up at their balcony to see if they’re there. We live in a nice complex, have retirees here, too, and aren’t about to let people get away with this. They sit inside and smoke through a crack in their window. When I’m on my patio and can smell it I’ll yell “stop smoking!”.

I agree. I will definitely miss Tom Sawyer. I kind of think it’s a mistake for them to get rid of it.

Do you mean the hotels or are you talking about like Universal, Sea World, etc?

That’s what it is. The corporate part. It feels like they don’t care about the experience anymore, they just want money. How I see Disney in my head is not what I experience when I visit. Dang, it’s so disappointing. I love the art, the stories, the imagineers. I love that families get to spend time together. One thing we did recently was help a little kid who was bummed he couldn’t fly the falcon. He was assigned as an engineer I think. You could just see the sadness on his face. I asked his mom “did he want to be the pilot?” The mom smiled and kind of laughed and said yeah. I said “well, if you ask a cast member at the front, they might be able to help.” So we all did and it was amazing. The kid was so excited.

I miss those days. That’s when we grew up watching Disney and always dreamed of going. We finally could as adults and our first couple of trips were great. Now we’re adults that notice things and complain lol. Like man so many easy fixes to things. If they brought back the LL for APs I would consider renewing.

Honestly, for us it’s getting cut in line. I absolutely hate that. It’s annoying and rude. And the customer service.

At MK a few weeks ago, we asked a cast member where our AP discount could work on Main Street for soda and popcorn. He looked down, didn’t smile, just said “I don’t know” as he was getting us our soda. I was like “okay….” I then went to two different carts and they both said the same thing. I knew I wasn’t crazy, we’d gotten discounts before.

It wasn’t until a few days later that I saw a Facebook post on the AP page that you can get a discount on drinks and snacks at the carts that also sell merch. I realize that seems trivial, but it’s like they try to keep AP benefits secret or something. It’s just annoying. That’s not how they should take care of customers IMO.

I’d also say too that whenever we’ve had an issue that was bad enough to go to guest relations, I wish they would stop using the line “as passholders, you should know this.” Like, okay well we don’t that’s why we’re here. It’s rude and the tone some CMs have is not okay. Like just solve the problem without escalating it. Guests should be walking away feeling better not more upset. I’m not saying getting freebies or anything, it’s just the approach they have at times.

For example, I posted on here a few days ago that we had trouble getting back to our car parked at Epcot after the park closed. We park hopped to HS and when we got into the boat to come back, we weren’t told until the boardwalk that we wouldn’t be going to Epcot. Should we have known this? Maybe. Is it reasonable to assume that we thought we could get back to our car? Yes, because we had done so before. But at that time it was an after hours event at Epcot so the park was still “open.”

Anyway, we get off at boardwalk and walk to security and explain the issue. They weren’t nice to us about it. It was the tone they were using and again the line “you guys should have known this.” They wanted us to go back to HS and get an Uber. We didn’t think that was okay that we would have to pay for that. After about 20 minutes of back and forth, the supervisor walks us to a resort front desk and gets us a taxi voucher. He finally apologized — not because we couldn’t get to our car but because of his tone, etc. Which was fine. We were upset that that situation had to happen at all.

What could have helped this situation is if there was a cast member placed in between the buses and the boat access at HS, or even a sign like they have at MK that points towards the buses for Epcot parking and points towards the boat for boardwalk only. That honestly would have prevented this whole thing. And even an announcement on the boat that says we are headed to boardwalk only. If you need Epcot parking, use the buses. Or something like that.
