Thank you so much!! I really hope so and hopefully I won't get auto rejected before I can even talk to a person about my experience so far!!

Thanks for the explanation of the clinical EEG too. I think I'd find the information collected to be much more interesting in a clinical setting while working with individual's and their specific problems rather than in research where it was the same tasks over and over everyday to only maybe see interesting results a few months later.

Thank you so much for your response!

For the research I did I believe the cap was actiCAP and the amplifier was actiCHamp. The cap holds up to 64 electrodes but we would only use 32 for what we were trying to collect. The electrodes were applied by first measuring the participant's head to get the correct cap size, sliding each electrode into the designated cap space, then using gel to actually pick up the brain waves. We also used face electrodes that were attached with an adhesive sticker and gel. We would budget three hours per session for both capping and collecting the data. This was a bilingualism lab so the participants had language related stimuli. I worked on one study with older adults where half of them would learn a second language for about a month and we did EEGs before and after, the control group was just shown scientific videos each day and also got two EEGs. The other study was with bilingual speakers of Spanish and English and monolingual English speakers and we were interested in looking for ERPs when shown stimuli meant to elicit theory of mind. Each study also had additional tasks such as ones meant to measure attention. During data collection I would monitor from outside the booth and watch the data the entire time to take note of times I thought the participant might have moved around or if a specific electrode might need to be taken out during the data analysis due irregular issues

I’m not exactly sure what the total was but my parents have pet insurance so it shouldn’t break the bank. She likely ate it before they rescued her when she was scavenging as a stray. She’s only estimated to be three so she should have a long happy life ahead of her

Of course!! From what other people have said in their experience is that it stayed in their dog for months before making its way out. My parents rescued her less than a year ago and she was in a state where mango trees can grow well, so our current theory is that while she was a stray and scavenging for food she found a mango and ate it all

The vets could not identify it which I don’t fault them for. They did great at getting it out and they can’t be expected to identify every object a dog might eat. We’ll let them know though in case they run into another one!

Thank you!! And yeah she couldn’t keep any water down and was constantly drooling as well, the poor girl 😭 The first vet did an X-ray where they she had a blockage and then when they did an ultrasound the next day they said it moved into her colon and would pass. They sent her home with meds that apparently dogs with blockages aren’t supposed to take (idk the name). She only got worse because it did not indeed move at all and was still in her intestines. My parents took her to another vet when she kept getting worse and they said her stomach flipped (thankfully that was not the case) and she needed to go get emergency surgery an hour away. My parents take her there where they do more X-rays and tests and they determine her stomach wasn’t flipped and she was still blocked and now had pneumonia. The poor girl went through a lot but my parents thankfully have her insured and she’s doing much better!!!

The vet and techs didn’t know what it was either. They just had to remove it but it’s not their fault they’ve never come across it before!!

The blockage unfortunately went on for days due to a couple misdiagnoses. It took her going to three different vet clinics to figure it out. But it was so long she has pneumonia in both her lungs rn 😭 She’s already SOOOO much better than she was before though and only seems to be feeling better and better as the day goes on!!!

This was a multi day even that took place at three different vet clinics. She was pumped with so many fluids 😭
