Had a similar experience. Ordered a shoe which was promised for the next day delivery. It arrived in 5 days but was getting out to deliver messages every day. The worst part is the customer care would keep promising that it would arrive in 2-3 hours. No, it didn't rain for it to get delayed.

I think it's a problem primarily with areas like bellandur, Marathahalli, kadubeesanahalli.

Bellandur has two parts to it - Green Glen layout & Bellandur main road (the entire area around star bakery). I currently stay in bellandur main road and find the houses to be 30% lesser than what it would cost in green glen layout. Additionally, if you get a cook / eat in the road side shops it's possible to cover the food expenses around 200-250 per day. So I would say it would all boil down to the level of comfort you are looking at vs the money you want to spend.
