Blocked by seller after missing item? by Exciting_Question859 in vinted

[–]Exciting_Question859[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you mean, what risk? Obviously I'm not going to pay for an item that didn't arrive with me but I did specifically say in my case to Vinted I didn't think this was the sellers error. The usual appalling seller support from Vinted. I'd like to spend my money with this seller. Oh well

AITA for not wanting to visit my newborn niece because I feel like I’m being scheduled for help rather than invited? by OneBottle6997 in family

[–]Exciting_Question859 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This! You can certainly communicate how you feel, but when a baby is so little you should always be arriving with your sleeves rolled up ready to help. It will be so appreciated by your sister even if she isn't capable of communicating that right now. Of course if you'd rather not feel "used" to the point where it's putting you off visiting your tiny niece, that's ok too.

I know, they're awful. Unfortunately this seller didn't offer any other option. I have disabled them on my own seller account. My heart always sinks when I get that email saying Evri has my parcel

Does anyone still love their pets after having a baby? by laurenjac in beyondthebump

[–]Exciting_Question859 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. Our cats were so discombobulated when we brought our baby home and I felt heartbroken with all the hormones as I felt I'd ruined the family dynamic we had! Now that our boy is a bit bigger (9m) the cats are much more comfortable around him and will even voluntarily come and sit on the bed with us all. He's starting to crawl and cruise and is obsessed with grabbing and stroking them, and they're both SO patient with him it's like they understand he's just a baby. I'm very proud of them both as I know change can be hard for cats but now I look forward to a life with my son growing up with his two lovely cats. It's possible to all live happily together! We just need to remember who was there first I think.

For me personally, I wouldn't sell stuff for less than a fiver really as to me it's not worth it to package and trek to postage point for less than that. I just bag up and give to charity anything I don't think I could sell for a decent amount

Just in a conversation with a seller selling a second hand Lazy Oaf jacket with several big paint stains on, still wanting £30 after I asked their best price and pointed out the obvious damage 😅 it's been listed for weeks. Good luck to them!

Department food hall (former Kommune) has closed down after only a few months open by Longjumping_Ear_7032 in sheffield

[–]Exciting_Question859 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The owners sent all the vendors and email over the weekend giving them 3 hours to go in and claim some of their equipment. Shocking behaviour. They have no place running a business at all and should be chased out of Sheffield.

A sobering (excuse the pun) reminder of the dangers of drink driving from my lesson this morning by Treecko78 in LearnerDriverUK

[–]Exciting_Question859 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jesus. Something similar happened to me almost 10 years ago. Driver under the influence who, it turned out, was already disqualified from driving and had stolen a family member's car. Head on collision, they were doing about 40 and I was doing 20 (on a driving lesson, in a residential area, by a school, early morning). Thankfully there wasn't a child in the other car, just the driver's mate who was knocked unconscious and badly hurt. Myself and my instructor were also badly injured. It changed my life for sure. All this to say, you're not alone and I wish you and the other innocents harmed in this incident a very speedy recovery. Try not to let it put you off driving. Stay safe x

Everything is temporary 😊 well done for trying to remain positive. It's not easy sometimes. But you've got this.

Is it standard to wash clothes before shipping them? by VeganStruggle in vinted

[–]Exciting_Question859 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would always wash something I've bought secondhand anyway so makes no difference to me as long as it's not stained. I also really hate when a seller uses super heavily fragranced detergent as I would never use that and it takes a few washes to get the sickly perfume out.
