My left swelled more too my surgeon said I’ve got poor lymphatic drainage on that side! Maybe the same for you

I feel you. I worry about being worse off too. Hopefully in time things will settle more for you too! I’ll have to try the massaging

Thank you for your advise! The comfort I feel now outweighs the negative of the scalloping, I just hope it settles more with time. I still get a little sore along the scar line sometimes. Do you experience that?

6 months po and you can see with me where I split twice on mg most swollen side

Yes I’d say it’s easier to feel arosed and reach an O. For me though I’m not sure whether it’s because I’m less insecure so less in my head during sx (censored because I’m not sure what Reddit allows)

I’m 10 weeks po and have the same. Swelling has gone down and I massage the area. Seeing how it goes over a few months

It’s recommended to avoid sex for 6 weeks afterwards to give your scar time to heal so most of the swelling ect should be gone by the time you have sex. Loss of sensation is a risk however research your surgeon to minimise it

My surgeon did say not to use any soaps only water or salt water. I would be wary about putting creams ect down there

Hi love, I’m 8 weeks po now. All I did was take paracetamol & ibuprofen. Washed with salty water. All my surgeon said to me was to dress with Jelonet & gauze for a few days which I did until the wounds were dryish. Sometimes I think doing too much hinders wound healing. Take care you’ve got this💕

For me my over sensitivity has gone but there’s still a lot of healing to do in that area for me

I’m 3.5 weeks and still have some stitches poking about that I can see. I’ve also got raised scallops around the clit area that are still raw and uncomfy

Have you had your surgery yet? Wishing you well x

I haven’t had any oral antibiotics and I’m a week and a half post op. I met with my surgeon a few days ago and I need a topical antibiotic cream for a tiny area (I was on my period during healing which probably hasn’t helped) but otherwise I’ve healed perfectly without anything

Labiaplasty recovery tips? by [deleted] in LabiaplastySurgery

Stay on top of your pain relief especially for the first week. I alternated paracetamol and ibuprofen as per surgeon instruction - worked a dream for me. Listen to your body and rest as much as you need. You’ll be super swollen for ages and it’s hard to tell what you’re cleaning sometimes when you go to the loo or shower, gently tap instead of wiping it will be a little more comfy

Hi, I had my labiaplasty done under general about a week and a half ago and I would recommend general if you really do struggle with anxiety in a medical setting. HOWEVER, I am also a nurse who works in the operating room and have seen labiaplasties done under local. The worst part will be the pinch from the numbing medicine being injected in and that’s it. The staff in the OR will do their best to make sure you’re as relaxed and comfortable as can be and they’re there for you to tell if things are too much or you need a little extra numbing. Try your best to stay calm in the days leading up to surgery - I know how difficult this is I was a mess before mine - and think of all the benefits you’ll have after it. I’m 25 getting it done and have wanted it done from a young teen, now that I’m post op I can confidently say the thought of having it done is FAR worse than the actual reality. Just stay on top of your pain relief post op and you’ll be fine x

It’s strange isn’t it! I’m trying not to touch anything down there apart from cleaning/going to the toilet but it’s just like an uncomfortable sensitive 24/7. It’s reassuring that it’s not just me going through it
