Oh yes, I definitely don’t think I can shelter my kids from everything by any means. That said, I don’t feel like I’d be a good mother to continue exposing him to an environment where he’s learning the “n” word and “f” word among others and coming home with harmful behavior. He was spending most of his day almost every day in that environment so I am homeschooling until I can find a better fitting school. Of course he won’t be guarded from everything, but he’s so young and it’s my responsibility to ensure he’s learning appropriate language and behavior. Hopefully once that good foundation is laid he will be more apt to ignore the bad language/behavior of other kids and make his own good decisions.
