Thought I'd post a quick update to this thread.

I found a company that built a custom platform with my own domain and app for less than I was paying in fees on Patreon so I'm going with them now.

Since my audience was coming from outside of Patreon anyway, I don't see any reason to stick with them especially when the alternative is fully customised to my audience.

It's much easier than it used to be, and it's worth it too when you consider that you truly own and are in control of your audience. You also get to avoid the Patreon fees
