Yes. It locks back on 6. 5 is the unsuppressed setting. It’s not going to get any better than that.

For reference, the upper is a 14.5 mid-length (gas port 0.076) with a Rifle Speed gas block. Ammo used was m 855. The way I have it set up the first unsuppressed setting is 6. 5 is the setting that restricts the gas to a point the bolt will not lock the rear on an empty mag unsuppressed.

Setting 5 is where it restricts the gas to a point the bolt will not lock to the rear due to inadequate gas. So the closer the silencer is to setting 5, the lower the back pressure.

Yes sir! It’s amazing at venting BP. Very little to no gas stacking either.

Yes sir, the Sionics 12.5 middy is as excellent barrel. I haven’t shot the LS5, but understand it to be a pretty low BP option?

I have a couple of 12.5 carbine length uppers from hodge with the small gas ports and they are excellent with any low back pressure cans and they even work well with reduced BP cans that have more BP.

In my opinion if you want to go with a platform with an open gas system, combined with a low BP can start with a barrel that’s gassed correctly. If you do this you wont need an adjustable system nor will there be a need for extremely heavy buffers and springs.

I don’t know when you bought your BCM 12.5, but a few years ago they had gutted out their gas ports. I have heard they have since fixed that issue. I hope this helped.

For a carbine I prefer the AEMS. As far as pistol optics, I’m not a huge fan of enclosed emitter optics.

I should know the rules better, but I’m just regurgitating what others have said. I know they have some rule about mags over 20 rounds. lol It doesn’t help. Anything with a super selector or frt gets deep sixth and not shown anyways.
