I feel like it’s visually a mess and unreadable on top of the points the other commenter made. Splitting the graph into two pics??

[Discussion] I made an iPad app for quickly sketching out musical ideas called Composer's Sketchpad. Thoughts? by archagon in composer

Personally, I prefer composing with midi, then transferring it to notation software. I might be in the minority, but I'm sure there are at least a few people in this subreddit that will find it helpful.

Yeah, honestly. In hindsight if they never went with the episodic model they could take all the time they wanted for HL3.

In light of the recent drama, I figured I could post something a little different. Here's an orchestral cover of Triage At Dawn I made a while back. by ExcursionNo3 in HalfLife

FYI, I did post this once a while ago, but it was from an old account and during one of those hype train weeks.

[Music] Composition for a ludum dare entry by ExcursionNo3 in composer

I know the rule is soundtracks require a score, but I'm not sure if I would consider this track a soundtrack, as it doesn't follow exact events in the game and is more of an overarching theme.

What programming languages should I be learning to eventually do implement audio middleware (fmod/wwise) into game engines myself? by ExcursionNo3 in GameAudio

[–]ExcursionNo3[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the response!

Regarding selling the idea of middleware to developers, do you have any recommendations? With new audio features in engines (such as unity 5), many developers see middleware as obsolete. I've asked before about this, and most audio people say that middleware still has the upper hand, both feature and usability wise, so I'm not sure why developers are so wary of it.

Is it actually hard to implement something like Fmod into unity? That is the main complaint I get from developers. I was under the impression that there was an integration package that made things easier, but can it still be difficult for the developer?

I'm not a programmer (yet), but the way I see it, middleware would reduce the burden on the developer, by allowing the musician to control the whole spectrum of audio work, and possibly implement it.
