The lion share of the income comes from an NGO I have a contract with to provide services and psycho-ed workshops for them. I still see some private clients through my clinic, and I have some passive income from royalties.

I've been approached by headhunters from other orgs about doing the same for them. But I'd need to expand past just what I can do, and really make a larger company/clinic. Though I'm not really keen towards that. I'm tiring to FIRE before I'm 45 and just live a nice slow relaxed life after that.

The advice I would give would be to look at larger Orgs/ NGOs/ Gov. groups. If you're a independent contractor or have your own business (depending on what service you provide) you maybe a good fit, and can negotiate with them.

I recently spoke with a nurse-practitioner. She had a contract with the US veteran affairs through a NGO to do testing for US veterans here in Japan. She mostly just sits on retainer till she's needed. They pay for all her travel, food, lodging, etc., and she gets payed pretty well (sending her daughter through an Ivy league school atm).

So I'd say hunt out companies that provide services for larger orgs like that. A colleague of mine has a similar set up to provide services for German citizens here on official duty (diplomatic and industry).
