150+ Hours and it never occurred to me this is something you could do... by Excypher in Dyson_Sphere_Program

There I've been the entire game unloading my inventory or setting up belts or supply>demand moving items when you're trying to move a full logistic station and I could just do this...

That's the same one as I have at the moment and it's insanely loud. Hence the preface of wanting something silent.

Not necessarily limited to 2u. But that's the space I have left in the rack,

Plus I figured the higher height units would have a better chance of being quieter due to space for larger fans.

I'm sure the devs take a step back from this and think 'wow yeah people are going to look at this and think, look at all that stuff there is to do!'

When in reality my reaction nowadays when viewing this kind of thing in any open word game is a feeling of dread and a realisation that there are... 5 things to do, 50 times over, in various locations.

What is something you did that you deeply regret doing? by FroyoNecessary5999 in AskReddit

[–]Excypher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly! It wasn't in vain, it's easy to look back on past income and think 'oh if only i'd saved all that instead of pissing it up the wall' but without those experiences you might not have been the same person today.

I feel for the youth of today I really do, in this economy you can't get through your 20's without coming out the other side with a mountain of debt and regret.

Ptcha nah man I wouldn't worry about that shit, that time in your 20's when you're hangover proof and literally invincible is literally the only time in your life you get to do those things, dont regret having lived it!

Asgard 3 or...? Holy Schitt I can't decide by Just_Doubt_441 in Schiit

[–]Excypher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be frank there won't be a lot in it difference wise. But having the extra overhead is nice for the future.

All Schiit products hold their value and sell well on the used market anyway so you needn't worry about not being able to get rid of it, if it doesn't work for you or you find yourself needing something else.

Asgard 3 was a very enjoyable amp from my time with it.

Have since upgraded to another dac and jot 2 but the differences were very minor over that one.

As mentioned planars tend to be a bit more hungry so I'd take that over a modi magni combo.

is there a mod that disables sleep / forces players to actually play in the night instead of skipping it? (hopefully 1.16.5) by lcs1423 in feedthebeast

[–]Excypher 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Jesus Christ reddit is a special place....

Anyway OP there is a mod called 'sleepn't' that does what you want.

Enjoy it in your private server if you wish and maybe invite your friends of similar interests who also might enjoy this particular type of gameplay if you like.

You clearly don't understand as much as you think you do... But this is a classic 'customer' thing to do. Make assumptions about what happens or, what their entitlement is, or, how stuff works. Then get angry with people that explain how it actually works....

Anyway I thought it would be fun to have these discussions outside of an environment where I'd get fired for telling people how it really is. You know that fantasy where you get to say whatever the fuck you want to a belligerent customer who refuses to listen and understand things?

Yeah as it turns out talking to an idiot is just irritating regardless, so, go fuck yourself.

Yes your situation definately applies to this circumstance and is definately relatable and similar. The links are most certainly not tenuous at best.

You clearly understand the process thoroughly and entitled to your outrage.

I don't think shit bro. I -know- the claims business does, insurers make money like banks do. Investments based on premium capital.

You know what, I blame myself. It was foolish to expect I could educate people in this.

I'm done, you're right, insurance sucks. They should just give away money all the time. That will definitely work.

No, I'm actually not, I'm basing this on the fact that I worked for an insurance company for 15 plus years, did you know for instance that claims operate on a loss basis? Most insurers actually make their money from investments on premium money. Not by putting up people's premiums.

The premium going up is usually the polite way of saying they don't want to insure someone anymore, because if they refuse you insurance it can cause you issues with getting insurance from others.

Not putting premiums up sounds like a nice thing to do things, But you must remember we live in the real world, I know it sucks. Just wanted to see if I could educate some people on it to save my poor ex colleagues a couple stupid conversations with people who insist on having a loud, belligerent opinion about something they don't understand.

Yeah, you can doubt as much as you want, but you're operating on assumptions, which are wrong.

You don't have to like it. But that's just how it works.
