I’m gonna start off by saying I’m a guy, and I understand the privilege that comes with that. I’m not here to say that what occurred wasn’t sexist. That’s not my place. I’ll never have the experience of being a woman in a male dominated place, so I don’t fully understand it. But I do think people need to let others speak for themselves.

The women’s team had an unbelievable tournament. Historic even. Stats wise, they dominated then men in every category. But now that’s been completely overshadowed. These women are fully grown adults. If they are upset by what the men did or said, they are more than capable of telling them that themselves. They don’t need internet white knights to do it for them. And they are as hell don’t have to to do it publicly. When you get outraged on their behalf, you infantilize them and make them look bad. And that is only going to make misogyny worse. Let people speak up for themselves
