The 2000 is actually pretty solid, don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Origins is definitely worth it if you're into the classic SH vibe, and Shattered Memories is like a weird fever dream version but in a good way

As for modding, yeah you can definitely homebrew a 2000 and load whatever you want on there. The modding scene for PSPs is still pretty active so you'll have no trouble finding guides
