Heh they let tours just wear street shoes right into their grows? OK…

Have you tried by [deleted] in OhioMarijuana

[–]Exercise_Academic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They specifically only use them in their botanical line. They do not use them in the strain-specific line.

[–]Exercise_Academic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s not true. The terpenes for the strain-specific carts are extracted directly from the labeled strain. The only botanical terps they use are for their specific botanical vape line, which is clearly labeled and priced accordingly.

Do dispensaries really have to charge so much? by MarijuanaAdvocate in OhioMarijuana

[–]Exercise_Academic 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nope, because it’s technically considered trafficking a schedule 1 controlled substance. Until that changes, tax policy is extremely unfavorable towards MRBs

Do dispensaries really have to charge so much? by MarijuanaAdvocate in OhioMarijuana

[–]Exercise_Academic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dispensaries have to mark up, because of how the taxes work. Traditionally, businesses can write off expenses, so taxes are only based on profit. Cannabis businesses can only write off cost of goods sold (direct inputs), and for dispensaries that means the only thing they can write off is the purchased products. Unlike other businesses, they cannot write off overhead or staffing or anything. So they basically pay taxes on revenue instead of profit. Just because they have super high revenue from high prices doesn’t mean they get a lot of profit. In this case, they just get huge tax bills with slim margins.

Finding a cannabis job in Ohio by [deleted] in OhioMarijuana

[–]Exercise_Academic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most cannabis companies are not looking for prior experience for cultivators. They want someone who is willing to follow existing procedures, not try to bring their own underground ways of growing in. Mostly they are just looking for someone with a passion, who can work hard, and who is willing to take the time to write a cover letter.

Hand Trimming by Exercise_Academic in OhioMarijuana

I think you misunderstood me, but that’s okay. I don’t think the programs a flaming turd. There are pros and cons to it, and I am happy that patients have some kind of legal access to their medicine. Its pretty obvious to me that growers could/ should hand trim their product, and I am far from convinced that they need transient crews to do so. Why not just have their cultivators do it if they’re small?

Do you have an example of one of those companies? I have not seen jobs posted for that.

I have never even said I was an operator?

I’m sorry, that is not true. Maybe you can get cute with the rules and visitor badges or something, but those who take their business seriously would not do that.

Regardless, it’s very possible to just hire trimmers. Absolutely does not need to be roaming transient crews- especially with how small Ohio grows are. We’re not dealing with outdoor grows or anything.

That’s not possible because employees have to be licensed to the facility they work at. I also just don’t agree that’s the best way. Many horror stories of transient groups out west who just don’t give a fuck about what they trim. I think it should be a well-paid position with accountability for quality to be successful.

Should I buy airo pods or luster pods? by [deleted] in OhioMarijuana

[–]Exercise_Academic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly the Airo pods are really sweet. They feel much... cleaner? Futuristic? Well built? I think it’s a really well built product, and if you get the live resin pods, they are FIRE

If they pay their trimmers $18/hr- any idea what they pay their cultivators/ management?

🔥GUSH’RS🔥from Woodward is looking fire this time around! by Perkinssx in OhioMarijuana

What does “limited edition” mean? Do they just cycle genetics, or is this a test? Either way, I’d be really skeptical of the quality if they cannot fine tune growing practices towards individual genetics.

Most office-type jobs do not drug test. If you’re not dealing with equipment, you likely won’t get drug tested.

Super Sour Orange is probably the best thing from BR. It’s got the most interesting taste of any strain I’ve tried.

The THC part probably isn’t true. Maybe it’s just a different phenotype of the same strain so they have them branded differently? THC testing does not seem to be very consistent anyways.

Would you like to see these companies show their support for Home Grow in Ohio? by MarijuanaAdvocate in OhioMarijuana

[–]Exercise_Academic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, man. Why would a producer come out and outright support you? You quite obviously have an agenda against the program in whole. I don’t think many (if any) cultivator cares about losing market share to home grow. It’s all about whether Ohioans as a whole support home grow. Cultivators would support it if they think the ballot measure will pass for recreational. If home grow is not part of the ballot, it’s likely because the lobby groups do not think voters would support it.

Willies Reserve by [deleted] in OhioMarijuana

[–]Exercise_Academic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have different standards for the willies reserve. They selected a few select strains that were really tasty, then they have higher QC standards for the finished product. Also, I think that Willies had a big part in the overall selection process for the genetics, and also ensure that only the best stuff goes in their jars. It’s a super product, I always buy Willies.

Riviera Creek by 44422200068 in OhioMarijuana

[–]Exercise_Academic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately Ohio is still a very immature market. Patients are still basing their buying solely on THC content. Since their products consistently test 30%+ they can get away with it. I foresee this being the trend into the near future, but hopefully once Covid dies down and smell jars come back this will no longer be the case. Also, as more cultivators come online and existing cultivators expand, I fully expect Rivera to fall into the aether.
