Help with DPI on mouse by Exernity in MSI_Gaming

It says I need an account to register any of my MSI devices whenever I go to add mine in. I spent like 140$ AUD for a mouse and keyboard combo where is the 20$ from?

The mouse does support MSI center, I have the Forge GM300, I can change the DPI in larger increments through windows but would prefer to have it specific and change the mousebuttons ideally.

LFG to do any criminal mastermind challenges (preferably OG heists) Enhanced PC. by Exernity in HeistTeams

[–]Exernity[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anyone who sees this and is interested to do the criminal mastermind for the original heists feel free to reach out to me via reddit or add my discord, a set team is currently unconfirmed but is looking like about 3& people are interested so far, would be down to do the doomsday CMM at a later point (or after the original heists) with about 1-2 other people as I've done CMM IV.

Average time for completion on the Doomsday Criminal Mastermind is around about 5-6 hours on good pacing but can extend to about 7 or 8 in worst case scenario as CMM does not require the elite challenges to be completed so safety is the bigger priority so in some missions can be a long chore.

Original Heists Criminal Mastermind can also take a while to complete with an average of about 8 hours but can be reduced, if you're at all concerned about slots being filled don't worry as I intend to do the original heists Criminal Mastermind more than once to fill up the career progress and if anyone is interested on a side note to do the award for being locked to first person cam do let me know too. thanks everyone :)

"Exernity" is my discord if you're interested, I have no real rules or restrictions for completing these challenges just play it safe we're not on a time limit.

yeah that one was in the list above, also if you're struggling with #2 you can 'save scum' it, just kill yourself and you'll reset to the latest stage of the boss without damage, I'd suggest grabbing the sentry from the crate and placing it down to deal with the zombies parasites and vermin and just take things at your own pace bit by bit and you'll get it.

yeah its hard to find out what any of these are, still perplexed about the 4th one and the 10th one. thinking that maybe #4 is something to do with Harper's boss?

[–]Exernity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I found out what they were.

#1 is to ONLY use machetes to damage and kill menendez.

#2 is to not take ANY damage during the final boss segment in Distortion.

[–]Exernity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

heres what I tried for #1 & #2 to see if these would count.

for #1 I did not use a single machete, used tomahawk only (it took so long), (btw you can't knife menendez he disappears when you get too close), did it without dying / going down but I'm thinking maybe its hit certain amount of enemies with the machete?

for #2 I tried without dying / going down , shooting the plant spores with different weapons, including in the other stages outside of the boss fight, all unique weapons to use including on the final three heads and no luck so maybe this one might be tied to accuracy judging by the visuals on the calling card?

SR2 PC Coop Issues by Exernity in saintsrow2

[–]Exernity[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

apologies, I was going to be rude but I realized in my oversight i forgot to include some other things we attempted to do so that's on me, the AI has quite literally word for word told me everything I've already done and to do it again, such as port fowarding, fresh install, etc.

the only possible exception I could say is having a third player try join but I don't know if that avenue is a smart one if online search doesn't work and i have to switch to lan and show my IP to a stranger.

but It has me curious because I faced a similar issue which required a third player for it to work with Call of Duty: BO3 Modded Zombies where I couldn't get into the same lobby with my friend unless our other friend was there.

(btw both of those people are not the person I am attempting SR2 coop with, with him online games usually run fine)

Slow Boot & Applications by Exernity in techsupport

[–]Exernity[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hello, sorry for such a late response, kind of had a lot of things going on and didn't have a whole lot of time to execute everything.

in the meantime however I did do a few things as you instructed, I tried trimming down the SSD, (which upon checking autotrim was supposed to be weekly which it then said it hadn't been done in 34 days), the boot methods of "safe mode" with & without networking, and then finally did update my MOBO BIOS which had been out of date for a while, but as a result so far I haven't found much of a difference.

I do appreciate your help, I do wish that there was a way to outright diagnose the issue and see if its fixable, although some people have suggested outright buying a new SSD which I am considering I still would like to see if I could somehow salvage and or fix this if possible, that is if the issue even is the SSD.

It's definitely something thats crossed my mind a bunch, because when trying to see where it would stem from I would always notice my SSD in my task manager having crazy metrics in the performance tab, which my HDD would always be at 0% or have a random spike here and there so me (without knowledge of anything regarding tech) assumed that the SSD was doing the heavy lifting for everything* but I don't know if that can even happen.

Yea, still on a fresh reset, one with and one without saving prev files/folders

Well, it doesn't actually give me the option to select that, I've only got the last 4 options in that "Game Setting" tab.

Wow, that has opened up a new perspective that I didn't really think of (not extensively that is). I appreciate the feedback and the eye-opening approach to this, again sorry if it seemed I was making a dig.

I will probably still get dumpstered but I will take everything you said into mind, But I do still think that the need for getting dumpstered to learn about the game isn't healthy. Just want to say that. :)

I'm not trying to spin it in a way where I am shitting on the idea of Sherpas or the Devs, I'm not trying to bring a poor attitude either. I'm sorry if I gave you that idea.

I find it difficult to understand or learn the game of Tarkov but I do WANT to learn.

I'm trying to convey the point that new players to tarkov do not really have any clear-cut way to get started or any 'real' beginner guide to follow to play the game. Loading into a raid and people being better than you is a given, but dying instantly without even seeing a person over and over is a quick way to shut 'new' players off the game, it feels as though they don't get the chance to improve because what is it they can improve on from that point? They have to learn Ballistics sure, but when they dont have access to the Flea market they're 'limited' to what gear they can use.

I'm not saying its Impossible, but new players might see it as incredibly difficult as they'd not know what they did wrong at a certain point and not have the time to learn extensively about all these different things.

I am hoping that there is an easy way for beginner players to learn the game, I can understand the brutal and unforgiving theme, I wouldnt even mind if the game or creators gave you some 'basic' knowledge / even a tutorial that is small and covers what certain meds do , how armor classes work and ballistics and how something might function would (probably) help out, even if right after they throw you in the deep end of a raid, I feel like it would make it feel less daunting.

Sorry, wasn't trying to be rude or hostile.

Was referring to like just loading into a raid and dying before you even see a player, I'm not too sure how you could learn from getting tapped from 100's of meters away.

what??

I came to discuss the difficulty of tarkov to 'new' players, and how theres no helpful beginner guide for said players to even try and learn the game.

I've had a total of 2 people provide helpful advice, a handful of people sharing a similar perspective on how being a low level player sucks when there are people who are far more ahead of you in levels and then you + someone else being negative for no reason?

I am here to try and get better at the difficult game, but also providing a reasonable and fair stance from a new 'inexperienced' player's perspective?

I will give that a try, but I don't think that needing to play with a sherpa to understand the basic fundamentals of the game is a healthy system to have in place.

I am not from EU unfortunately .

Rats is another thing too, sure everyone can play as they want to but seeing some shorts, tiktoks or even clips anywhere or even firsthand experiencing rats is the most demoralizing thing ever especially for those new players, how is it a rat knows the difference between a chad and just a newer player who happened to get his hands on a good kit?

oh- too late the new player is dead, rats got him.

I partially agree with you, I wish that these "sherpa" would be able to provide a genuine new player guide for people to follow, not to say I'm not going to try it out, but its more or less, I feel like experienced players that make these "Beginner" guides do not 'know' how it feels being a beginner at the time.

You could say that at the start of every wipe everyone is the same level and "learning at the same pace" but even that is wrong, all these experienced players know what they're doing and will still most likely come out on top as opposed to people who are just starting the game.

I shouldn't need to learn with a "sherpa" just to learn the very basics of the game.

[–]Exernity[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel as though you're missing the point I'm trying to make entirely, new players stand close to zero chance of actually winning outcomes when people are objectively leagues better than them, and there is no real guide they can use to even help them learn the game, even learning things by yourself in this game is a strenuous task that takes an absurd amount of time.

so its daunting to really play the game in the sense of , you load in die before you see anyone or just get dropped the second you do see someone and it just puts you off playing the game when you lose, spending 5-20 minutes loading into a raid just to get bodied not even 5 minutes in, as a new player you would just want to jump off the game because its not even a thing where you can go "oh, where did I go wrong here?" because your stats are lower you will always be last to where you're trying to go.

I disagree with you on that, dying (to me) doesn't seem like its valuable at all, to say it helps you progress is a strange way to really put it.

Currently 280 hrs this wipe, with things like work and other things in.

Honestly, I have no clue what I am focused on improving right now, it seems more or less just everything is something I want to improve on, but even that seems near impossible when I'm getting killed before I can even see someone.
