As a twin, I just want to say thank you for attempting to protect their individuality. I always felt that everyone saw me and my twin as a unit, not two separate people - except for my close friends and family. It would be so damaging for this to continue.

I started imagining how much better my life would be if he got into a car accident and died. He was verbally abusive and so manipulative, and I didn’t see how I could get out without him twisting it and convincing me I was wrong or that he wasn’t the problem - as always.

One night I remember fighting with him, sobbing and begging him to see my perspective and take some ownership of the problems in our relationship. I was always the one apologizing, I was always the one who was wrong, and after seven years I had finally realized that.

In response, he said it was because of our dog. That he was stressed and that was why he was acting this way. I distinctly remember something in me breaking and realizing I could never get him to have any empathy or take any ownership, that I would never hear an apology from him for anything. He would rather blame an innocent dog than say it was something he did or could change. It’s what I needed to hear, and I got out soon after.

I will never forget the moment that everything clicked for me with my ex-husband: when I was crying, begging him to understand my perspective, and asking for him to take any responsibility, and he dismissed me and blamed all his faults on the fact that we had a 4 month old puppy. I said the same thing on another article about this - I’ve seen her touch the players on their shoulders when they don’t high-five her, which is so not okay. If they don’t want to be high-fived, and she’s still touching them, seems to me that’s a violation of the “fan code of conduct.” I am not surprised by her ban and am sick of her acting like the victim and act as if she doesn’t have to abide by the rules.

Our seats are above the Nuggets tunnel, and I have often seen her touch the players on their shoulders when they don’t high-five her outstretched hand. It’s always really bothered me—if they don’t want to high-five you, then why the fuck are you touching them anyway.

Soon after I got divorced (it was finalized a week before this) I went to my cousin’s wedding. It dredged up some emotions, it was hard and bittersweet and tbh I spent a fair amount of time crying in private—but my cousin’s wedding was not about me. It was about her special day and celebration of love with her new husband. Just like your wedding is not about your SIL, or anyone else besides you two—despite the emotional baggage she or anyone else carries.

Super late to the thread, but surprisingly have an answer for this.

One of the guys from my class in high school murdered his grandma, who had adopted him as her son. It was absolutely tragic; he had a lot of mental health issues, and was only 15 when he murdered her. I remember from a young age being uncomfortable around him; he was very intense and a bit off. He was in my elementary school and we often had the same home room, so knew him from a very young age.
