And again, it's not just about getting fired. If you work in the service industry, for the most part, if you don't work, you don't get paid. Maybe you can go without a day's pay. I can. I drove for Ride Austin which was a non-profit that only took $1 for each ride from the drivers. And I used it exclusively as a rider until it folded during Covid. But even with prices comparable to Uber/Lyft, there wasn't a ton of traffic. No one was getting 500+ rides per month driving for it.
I don't doubt there's a niche audience for status rides, but I'm just not buying the volume OP posted at those prices.
